She may have gone to Florida simply because her other options for going somewhere far away, since she couldn't go back west, would have taken her up north toward cold, icy Chicago or northeast in the direction of Boston (where she could be recognized). She went about as far as she could go in the only direction that was feasible in winter and given her history.

Lauderdale and Miami are not that far...30 miles?

Tri-rail connects them, pretty fast...Miami also has a free people mover..
while most people like to drive Miami has enough public transportation to get you to Miami Beach or South Beach(Lincoln Rd) etc

I would be interested in hearing the name of the "hostel"...from what I have seen "hostels" here are NOT the big, purpose built "student" type ones they have in Europe...they are older motels or hotels converted into cheap/student/backpacker type accomodations

Usually they are shared rooms/dorms..or like 3 or 4 girls in a room (bunk beds)...

they might even have a pool here

I don't think there are many of them, but I have seen a Miami one on Travel Channel and also read some article at some point on how some old motels and hotels were being used like this

My guess?? A pretty young girl like Elizabeth would ask around for cheap hotel...and probably be told about this option

Now..it would be very interesting to see what/who she spoke to there?? did she share a room?? what did the roommates say?? Most of these places have some interenet access....did she use that?? Have they checked that computer??? and ..does anyone have the name of the "hostel" in Miami?? thanks

Maybe they had a show starring TS all planned and then the criminal history came out, so they had to throw this episode back on at the last minute.

I wish I could help BeanE, being only 24, but I have no clue as to what TV might have made seem so appealing about FL.

I know that it is a spring break hot spot, party town, at least they always make Miami Beach seem that way...Even CSI makes it look like fun.

As for fashion, maybe, but I don't think she's that into fashion. Seems more likely she would head for California if that were her motivation.

Interesting..according to her grandfather she WAS into fashion..or at least had been before Gabriel was born apparently. Remember the interview where he said that she just wasn't interested in being a mother? (paraphrasing there)

It hadn't occurred to me until I read your post that I have given no though into what her plans were after she did "whatever she did" For some reason I've just felt like she had no real plans..almost like she knew she would eventually get caught, but was going to leave LE a lot of ground to cover in the process trying to pinpoint exactly 'where' something happened, hoping they would never be able to prove anything...:

I was thinking she chose FL for the same reason she chose to use Tornado Bus,,too get lost,,although I do remember the guy who sold her the ticket saying she stood out because everyone else was hispanic . I think about what was going on in her mind to have to search out another mode of bus transportation other then the most common one which would have been Greyhound.

I'm with you. I think what's most frustrating is the only "coverage" he's getting is online. And none of us know where he is so his photo needs to be out there on tv!

Thing is...is that the show they are showing now...there is SO MUCH more to this story if you google it. NG's show is all old news! There have been so many new developments in that story yet NG never follows up. Okay...sorry...O/T. Was just hoping she would feature a show about Gabe. The police are handling the case she has on now. Gabe's face needs to be continually put out there. NG could have even repeated an earlier show about Gabe. I don't understand why her producers keep airing the show about the woman who tried to kill her husband. It's all for ratings.
