BeanE,
The link is taking me to a google login page. Can you check on it?
ETA: do I just need to sign up?

Hmmm... I'm signed into Google and it comes up for me. Let me sign out of Google and see what it does and I'll also double check the Bring home Gabriel Johnson site.

One sec :-)

ETA: Ok I can only get to it when I'm signed into my google account

Okay it's also available here directly on Gabe's FB page:

What about websites, blogs, forums etc that moms go to for advice and to chat? The only one I've heard of is MomLogic because I haven't had a baby in a very long time.

What if we start posting on Craigslist? Need to check their posting rules, but I think we could hit the discussion forums, starting in SA then branching out through TX, then extend out through the U.S., even other countries.

I am *not* suggesting we spam! Only posting a missing notice and Gabe's pic where it may be allowed. Online place that young mothers particularly would go to.

Yahoo answers has a question forum for newborn/infants, I don't know if we can post there, it might get removed. But maybe if we post it as a question "Do you know where Gabriel Johnson is?".

Babycenter.com is another parenting forum community. And there is another one I've seen talked about a lot on YA, but I'll have to go find the name, I can't remember it.

New Flyer for Gabe from his Family

The family has posted a new flyer for Gabe. It's available for download here:

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&...ttd&zw&sig=AHIEtbTknkx5kfi3pC0E8thoesIS8O0eRQ

Ideas for places to put them:
Hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices, libraries, family recreation centers, day care centers, zoos, museums, baby stores, drugstores, bulk baby supply stores such as Sam's Club, Six Flags, baby departments in department stores, portrait studios...

Those of you with babies and small children, where do you take your little ones for recreation, medical needs, etc.? Where do you go to buy baby supplies?
BBM, you've got most everything already listed that I was going to say.
Maybe local mommy groups or play groups. I don't think whoever has Gabe is taking him to something like this, but it's a good way to get the word out. Also, local mommy's are likely to want to keep their eyes open for this little sweetie.

Link to the WebSleuths Texas resources. I'm gonna skim through this to look for anything that might be helpful to us or to Gabe's family.

There are local media outlets links at the link I posted above.
Should we start emailing Gabe's new missing poster to them and ask them to get it on their websites, TV stations, etc.?

Is there anyone reading here who is familiar with the online media blitz in the Susan Powell case that could give us some tips or idea's?

We really need a subforum for this case so we can organize our information and start a thread for volunteers to help do things locally and online. PLEASE let WS find a mini-mod so this can happen.

I was thinking too that the bus station she left from would be a good place for the flyers, as well as that Motel 6 where she parked the car too get to the bus station.

There is a hospital near there as well. I was trying to find parks in that area of town or right off the interstate south of there, but am having trouble finding any.

Anyone in Laredo, TX? If the person who has him, or EJ herself went south, then I think it would be a good idea to get the word out there as well, in English and Spanish!

Anything new?
(I'm skimming, but the rain has made my Internet slow.)

No new news that I know of. But we're getting some great idea's out here about how we can get Gabriel's information out. We need San Antonio locals to help with the physical distribution of flyers. And we need people who are willing to start emailing the new poster made by Gabe's family to businesses, media, etc. in San Antonio and any other places connected to this case.

ETA: I'm not trying to hog the thread. My mind is going a million miles an hour here and I'm trying to get every idea out before I forget. Sorry everyone.

Sorry but I don't think the "online media blitz" for Susan Powell is going to do any more good than posting in "new mommy forums" or play groups etc will do to find Gabe

I think in both cases there are "people" so close to the missing who "know" the details...Josh, Elizabeth...but refuse (for their own CYA) to say the truth

I applaud your good intentions but IMHO the answers are sitting in that jail cell

And that is your opinion. But in the name of having hope, any productive ideas you may have, feel free to throw them out there.

What about consignment shops and that kind of thing? Even well off parents shop consignment, and if they needed a bunch of stuff all at once that might be more likely than going to a high end store or even Walmart.

CL postings in the wanted section. Or for sale ads for baby stuff, like someone getting rid of all the girl stuff, "because they had the baby's sex wrong" or that kind of thing.

How do they choose the kids that go on the back of the ad circulars?

Doing something is better than doing nothing.. I live in Austin only an hour north of SA I'll put flyers up here as well

Rental car agencies?

If I were going to pick up a blackmarket child, I wouldn't drive my own car.

Texas is also big on huge flea markets, at least in my area. If they have any of those going on soon in San Antonio, maybe we can get fliers out there.
