I agree the Smith's story doesn't add up but I'm just having trouble coming up with a connection. Why would mom sit in jail to cover for this couple? What is that we think they know? Are they hiding Gabriel?

EJ is a dam# liar! How could he read her eyes? IMHO, the way she treated Gabriel, she didn't look at him with love brimming in her eyes. grrr

I think Logan knows her much better than them. He said she's capable of it. Of course he HOPES she didn't, but all these people on NG's show need to make way for the possibility sweet Gabe is no longer with us.

Both Smiths had VERY nervous body language and speech patterns. They are lying, and hoping that by being on NG it will show they are sincere in their efforts to help with the investigation. Unfortunately, it backfired miserably, they both looked like they were lying, covering up, and withholding info.
They should have just stayed in the background - but being the attention-seeker she is, TS just could not help herself.
Maybe she thinks no one will figure out this stuff? On national TV?
NG pissed me off.he was really trying to make the Smiths look good, but even her efforts did not work.

And while this has probably been mentioned, the fact she sent the follow-up text saying that she didn't kill him either comforts or bothers me. Either she somehow realized she had gone too far (but is willing to do all this?) or she realized she had just texted a confession and wanted to rescind it.

I think NG is coddling them a bit in order to keep this thing going. She started to show her true feelings a bit when she said "I know you wouldn't have this demeanor if you didn't know he was alive." Passive-aggressiveness at its best.

Also, NG has gone soft. It is ridiculous. She used to grill people like the Smiths so bad and now she is saying she can tell they are good people?!
Oh, and my kids have had diaper rashes as well and by NO means were they, or ever will be, neglected.

I really don't think NG would do that. This is a t.v. program and is about ratings. Think of her audience. The average audience member, I think, would not understand a carefully crafted ploy spanning several shows to get them to incriminate themselves or give useable info. I could be wrong but I just don't think so. I think NG has an ego and does not like to be wrong or to be called to task. I think she also is much more into ratings these days than crime solving. Her show has declined as a result, I think. Now it's all about Tiger and Charlie Sheen and other celebs. If I wanted that, I'd watch TMZ. They do better research anyhow!

I also have to add my thoughts on why EJ is staying so silent. I am sure her time spent with the smith's was just them brainwashing her and who else knows what. They probably scared her sh**less!(lol didn't mean the pun!)

Money promised if she keeps quiet? Or, perhaps she killed Gabriel after taking their money and now has to placate them as well. Or maybe she is so vindictive and disturbed that she would rather sit in jail than reveal where the baby is because she doesn't want Logan to get him. I can easily see that. Hey, this girl has been basically insititutionalized since the age of three, bouncing from one foster home to another. Jail ain't that hard for a person who grew up never knowing stability. She knows where her next meal is coming from, she's surrounded by like-minded people, she knows what to expect next in her day due to the strict jail schedule. She doesn't mind much at all!

Just go to FB and type her name. It will come up but it is private so you can't really see anything unless you are her friend. MS is public though.
