I'm pretty sure that you can only use WIC in the state where it's issued.

Yeah, and I know here in PA you have to pick a certain store and use it only at that store.

  • #322
It's intended to cover both. Formula is covered in most cases, especially when the baby needs a specific kind of formula. But cheese/peanut butter/juice/milk may not be covered. Once again, it's about what the mother and child may need.

WIC is offered to non-breastfeeding women normally for a period of six months postpartum. A child can recieve WIC until the age of five.

Since she is more than six months postpartum i doubt she is still getting WIC for herself. But Little Gabe would still be getting formula, infant cerial, baby food.

Here is the thing though you can not use Arizona WIC "checks" in Texas. So she would of had to stock up before going on the trip because once she left the state she wouldn't be able to get it.

There might be stores that are right on the state line that accept the other states WIC checks but San Antonio should not accept them!

I just wanted to do the check in to see if anything is new here.
I agree with all you folks who are thinking EJ's silence is a bad sign for Gabriel to be alive.
It has been too long for her to be quiet if all she had to do was say where the baby is and she would get out of jail.
From my heart I pray that it is not the case.
I just remember that Casey did not talk like this and look what happened. Then longer you wait, the more decomposition occurs and the less likely evidence will be apparant (like in CA - by the time they found little Caylee, chloroform could not be identified since the remains were only bones).:(
Gotta go, will be checking in later for the evenings JVM, NG, etc. As much as I dislike NG, that is somewhere facts are presented and are usually very current.

I have often wondered why it took so long to locate the car. How they found Elizabeth so quick all the way in Florida is another good question.
The FBI is who actually found Elizabeth so quickly.

The FBI also found the car, just days later.

Now, if they could just find Gabriel!

I just don't see Elizabeth sitting silent in jail for this long if she could lead the authorities to a live baby Gabriel.

I believe, as I stated once before, that she is remaining silent for the same reason Casey stayed silent about Caylee.

The FBI and four states have been looking for this 8 month old baby round the clock- and as far as I can tell, are no closer to finding him than the day he was reported missing.

I agree 100% with you. You are a smart blonde. lol

When Elizabeth contacted Logan and told him she had killed Gabriel, and put his dead, blue body in a baby/diaper bag in a dumpster, I don't think she was taunting him... I think she was bragging.

Very cruel and vindictive. Sounds familiar. I hate this sort of thing. Children are not pawns. I wish when it comes to children the people accused should have no rights especially when they can't give an explanation where the child is. I feel she should be made to talk even if it is brutal force. This is an 8 month old child. I am appalled at this case just like Haleigh's and all the other children that have suffered at the hands of the people who are supposed to love and nurture them. I hope Elizabeth talks soon.

I'm a bit surprised we haven't heard from Logan in so long. (Or, have I just missed it)?

I'm just speculating, but, I believe that if Logan still held out hope that Gabriel was alive, he would be all over the media.

My heart goes out to this young father.

It might be a stretch, but if Gabe was put on a plane there would not be a need for a carseat?--also if anyone was thinking of covering tracks and leaving behind as much evidence as possible that either could be identified or tie Gabe's whereabouts to another location?

Perhaps the people EJ dealt with in SA were experienced in these types of abductions/adoptions and perhaps they even brought new clothes to take Gabe away in? IDK just pondering in my desperate hope that Gabe is alive

I think it makes much more sense that nothing much of Gabriel's would have been given over to anyone else, doesn't it? So I agree, whether it was a plane, vehicle, bus, train, or boat. My bet is on a private plane or vehicle.

Further, I think there are a lot of clues that this was handled within an experienced group (that does not mean some huge network even and I have no doubt that there are legitimate groups and networks where some illegal and unethical stuff goes on within it - doesn't mean everyone in the group is connected.).

I am really wondering if instead of putting Elizabeth in touch with some adoption group, she was put in touch with a group (or people functioning in this group) who focuses on abuse and getting away from abusers - there are obvious connections between these two groups also. I sincerely hope they are also looking at Tammi and Janet's religious affiliations and those organizations. Someone pointed out earlier that The Adoption Place had turned into a religious charity (with a different name?) or was also before that. They already seemed to be functioning in several cities. The broader religious connections could be many more cities and connections - and then there is all that mission work in other countries (country).

He might know something more than the rest of us. Maybe they told him not to talk so TS and JS keep talking and implicate themselves somehow.

The thing is, in my opinion, by the time she had made that court appearence in Arizona, she had more than likely already been questioned by the FBI.

If this 23 year old young woman wouldn't give up the information for the FBI, I believe it is because she knows little Gabriel is no longer alive.

I see your point, and it is a valid point for sure, and I may end up with a similar opinion in the next few days. Right now, I know my own bias, seeing through my wishes for this sweet babe's life. If I resign all hope for Gabe being alive, my focus here would swiftly change to hope for the worst possible punishment for EJ.

Right now, I see EJ as stubborn, vindictive, but misinformed. IMO she believes she has done everything right; I believe she was given misinformation about adoption from the Smiths and their "friends." As late as the 26th or 27th the Smiths allegedly told Logan to sign the papers and EJ would probably come back. It seems to me that EJ did not understand the difference between a 'closed' adoption and an illegal adoption. If LM is not on the original birth certificate, and she was throwing in questions of paternity as late as Dec 14th, EJ may be stubborn enough to think that giving Gabe away was within her parental rights.

Lastly, I do not know, but would not the FBI strongly advise EJ of her right to counsel?

I just thought of this as another possibility of why Logan isn't talking.
Maybe he is keeping quiet for fear that if it got back to EJ that he was out there talking to media and whoever, she would get even more mad and that would just add fuel to her hatred towards him and give her more reason to keep quiet.

  • #336
Apparently, after Logan received the ominous text saying she killed the baby, he called LE and they tracked her to where she was located by that.

AFAIK the text was sent before EJ would have arrived in FL -- I heard it was on the 27th (the day she left TX?)
Another WS poster noted, EJ updated her MS while in FL so the IP address of the hostel would have shown up on her MS

Good article. I this this is very telling and I have to admit feels creepy to me.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2581663/missing_baby_gabriel_johnson_tammi_pg2.html?cat=41

Among her 1,700+ Facebook (FB) friends, Tammi Smith has teenage students from each of about twenty-five highs schools. A few of her friends are staff members at Christ's Church of the Valley in Peoria Arizona, which has the program Teen Moms Becoming 'for pregnant and parenting teens moms up to age 21 to meet'. That numerous FB connections are to teenagers and potential teen pregnancies may or may not be incidental and innocent. But her connection with Elizabeth seems shady.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2581663/missing_baby_gabriel_johnson_tammi_pg3.html?cat=41

Tammi has said of Elizabeth, "She's completely innocent. She loves that baby and just wants to find a good home for that baby. As a mother, I commend her." These statements would make a persuasive sales pitch by a baby broker.

No offense, jamiect, but NG rarely has "breaking news!" that's actually "breaking news!". Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the lady, but she seems to be at least one step behind what we discuss here.

I truly, truly hope LE does have evidence little Gabe is alive and well. They are tight lipped, though, so don't know for sure. I hope he gets to go home to his daddy soon!!!

Yeah, and Nancy has just realized other journalists are now reporting the real story with details from actually researching the case.

But thank you for the news!!
