She may not be able to pass one. Do we know her real reason for not having custody of her older children? That could be it right there. she may not have been able to even pass the background check. Isn't there some kind of "abuse registry" of sorts? if you get called on, it automaticcally (sp?) goes on that site, for all states? to prevent crossing state lines, and getting away with it again?

It all depends on each state law. But in most states a potential adoptive person would have to be finger printed for or name is run through, Child abuse Registry, State Criminal and FBI. I do believe in 99% of the states they have to clear the child abuse registry. In my Catholic Church, in order to teach Religious ED, I have to submit to the child abuse registry once a year.

Somebody send her that video!
And then make sure she invites Tammi back on to explain herself. Oh, and it would be good to have Marc on again also. :D

Maybe I'm mistaken but I understood EJ travelled as "Elizabeth Jones". Or at least that's what I heard on NG's show. Or maybe she had a fake ID?

I dunno... unless she had a fake ID- which is pretty plausable at this point. but I do know that if Justin had not have had his ID on him, he may not have gotten on the bus, but he would have been living at the Greyhound station... lol

Marc is always a welcome guest to hear from but Tammi........I'mmmmmmmmmm not so sure she'll be available.

I hate to say this but I think the Smiths will be back on NG tomorrow with some kind of rationalzation for their lies. They seem to be without shame. I mean, if I had the LE basically saying I was lying or not telling the whole truth, the last place I would be is on national tv digging a bigger hole, which is what they have been doing. I think they feel they are above the law and will try to smooth over this indescretion.

You only need the cash to get a ticket. No ID required :)

I'm pretty sure that Tempe AZ and San Antonio TX Law Enforcement has recently become big fans of the NG show. They've been giving them enough rope and it's been paying off.

I expect we will be seeing Tammi arrested any time now
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
She didn't fool us for a second...WS was on to her from the very moment she opened her mouth.
I may just run over and post an adios on her wall!

Please help me out here because I don't understand how this helps us know where Gabrial is. You are very excited about TPS being busted and I agree it's a big development. But please tell me how this helps locate Gabriel because that's all i really want to do. If I'm missing some new clue as to where Gabriel is, let me know.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Back in thread 5 I posted that I thought that naming another possible father was a scam to delay the custody hearing until EJ could get away with the "abandonment" claim that her grandpop alluded to! Name a second possible father, split with Gabriel and delay the custody ruling, 30 days later claim abandonment and sign the baby off to TPS.

Whoops. I don't think your cunning plan worked out so well!

Yes, it is interesting that all this time, LM is the father until EJ meets up with the S's. They know what they're doin.

It may mean that this woman may very well know where the baby is. If they can get her spill the beans now that they know some of the things she's been hiding and lying about, this could be over.

I deal with scams and cons in the adoption world on a regular basis and helped get some convicted. And then there are those who do it for attention and not just money, they are the hardest to get to stop, because you can't get anything illegal on them.

In my experience the cons will go right on trying to convince you they are being wronged, right up to the point of when the cell door slams shut. TPS from get go, sent red flags flying and she is going to continue trying to convince everyone she was dubed and is a victim.

I don't know if Tornado is required to keep the same records as airlines are, but IIRC, EJ used an alias when she went to Florida so it seems they don't even ask for ID. :waitasec:

Trying to catch up --

But, could she have had a fake ID as part of the whole package, GPS, connections with JM, etc.?

Personally I'd rather have her be SHERIFF JOE'S guest!!!! :D

I just watched the local Fox news, no link, so all this is a paraphrase, my opinion/impression, please do not take it to be verbatim:

Cmdr Kim Hale said they are receiving approx 20-30 tips a day, and are following up on each one. He also said that he doesn't have anything that will make him say that he can guarantee that Gabriel will be home next week.

Then the anchor said that they have reports that the local SA police are checking landfills and dumpsters and then they went to SA news reporter Yami Virgin. She said that one of the motels told her that the police called them and asked her who handles their trash pickup. She also said that a clerk saw EJ with a car seat, and that EJ came to the desk in the middle of the night one time for milk. Yami also said that apparently EJ used the computer at the hotel and the police are looking at it now.

Yami said that overall, there isn't a lot of publicity about Gabriel and that the average person on the street probably doesn't even know there could be a missing baby in the vicinity.

Edited to add: Fox Phoenix has added the video to their site. After you watch the video with Yammi Virgin, the interview with Cmdr Hale will auto-load: http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/news/local/tempe/johnson_case_011210

Hopefully the way this helps Gabriel is that the more lies are exposed the closer we get to the Smiths finally telling the truth, which is what EJ was doing in San Antonio in the first place. I'm not sure that they know where Gabriel is but I am sure they know why EJ went to San Antonio and who she was to connect with. Instead of laying low and keeping themselves under the radar, they have been all over the place, giving interviews and making all kinds of comments when all they needed to do was tell LE the truth. LE is right, they know more then they are saying and they need to spill it right now.

He could only speculate? Is he a moron? How else would EJ get his name unless cousin TPS gave it to her? Why is he playing dumb? It is becoming clearer and clearer the lengths she would go to get baby Gabriel. Lying seems to have come easy to her. Lying about meeting her at the airport. I don't believe she did unless it was a prearranged meeting that was arranged over the internet. She must have been the person to plant a bug in EJ's ear aboubt the 30 day abandonment thing. She is up to this to her eyeballs and I don't know how she can explain it all away. She needs to do some serious soul searching and come clean about everything, especially how EJ got to San Antonio and who sent her there.

Makes you wonder how many other babies have been "taken" this way. I think they were totally caught off guard that Gabriel had an upstanding father who wanted him. The jig is up.

It's hard to find all the facts that have been told in this case and impossible for me to read back over all the very long threads, but I'd like to know more about Elizabeth's history and what she was doing the past 8 months. One poster mentioned that she might have met the Smith's online. Could Elizabeth have been stringing along other couples hoping to adopt and maybe getting money from them along? Maybe that's why she went to San Antonio. She says that she just happened to meet some couple in a park the day after Christmas. People are not going to be hanging out in parks on a cold day after Christmas. Anyone with money would be out shopping or visiting with family. Lots of people in SA would not have lots of money and would want that carseat if she somehow convinced a couple, such as visitors from Mexico to take her baby back with them. I agree with Mark Klaas. They need to quit focusing on the Smith's and start getting the word out to people to watch for someone suddenly having a baby. That, and being on the outlook for a body or a discarded diaper bag.

Praying with fingers crossed that the hotel computer holds the info to the last person connected with this.
