TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Silver Alert has been issued for 75-year-old Henry Ramirez on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

According to the Avondale Police Department, officers responded to 900 S. Central (Avondale) around 3:50 p.m. on a missing person call for Ramirez, who was last seen on Friday, Oct. 5.

His pick-up truck has been located in the desert near Estrella Parkway and Calistoga, according to Avondale police.

Ramirez is described as white, 5-foot-10, weighing 180 pounds, with gray hair and green eyes; he is in the early stages of dementia.

Anyone with information on the 75-year-old is asked to contact the Avondale PD at (623) 333-7001.

Ramirez, who has dementia, is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with green eyes and gray hair, police said.

Surrounding agencies and hospitals were contacted but had not seen Ramirez, police said in a news release Tuesday evening.

God, I hope I don’t end up here one day. I think I’ll have to really think about buying one of those locators in the future. I can’t bear the thought of family searching for me.

Yesterday I was talking to my supervisor about the Bobbie Braden case and how it was affecting me as I had cared for my mom with Alzheimer's. She mentioned her grandfather's brother had disappeared in the Estrella mountains over 4 years ago So I began researching and ended up here. How tragic, for the family. She said they had searchers, horses, atvs, hikers and never found a trace. But the family believes he is deceased. I guess in these terrains it is possible to never be found, especially with Dementia the missing would probably wander off a path. Just devastating. The silver alert is still active, I guess once a family can declare someone legally deceased that will deactivate.
