He made that comment after her body was found when speaking of the whole experience. I don't think the verbiage JM used should be interpreted as past tense. I doubt if he even knows correct tense. sorry. I am not sure if under those circumstances I would have perfect grammar either. Also if he was thinking of an instance in the past where she exibited those behaviours it would be natural to use past tense. e.g. she was wise the day she did not take candy from a stranger. If he was remembering past occasions. jmo

Just a sweet little girl, 6 years old, you know, all the ambition in the world, she could do whatever she wanted, uh, didn't really like strangers or anything like that, so very close knitted and just, very wise."

He doesn't really use any tense with the word wise since it's a separate addition in the end of the sentence but IMO there is no other way to understand "could do", "wanted" and "didn't like" except past tense. These aren't really events in the past imo, they are more general qualities that would go on and be present tense unless the child died or her personality changed, or the speaker hasn't seen her in a long time and doesn't really know what she's like nowadays.

Since it appears that JM was the only relative out publically helping with fliers, etc., and may have been the only "connecting dot" to the Celis family at that time, the media would be up his "wing/wang" to talk to him as much as they can. They were all hungry for information from anyone connected to the family.

I highly doubt JM was raising a "red flag" asking everyone to come and talk to him. The news of a relative out in the crowd is news. IMO, JMO

Completely agree, if anyone has dealt with the media in any situation really, they can be very very pushy, to the point of being disrespectful and not caring. That is their job, to get the news, to find out, to try and be the first to get the interviews. I seriously doubt it as well that he was out there jumping up and down saying pick me pick me. Maybe he is just a really polite person who has a problem saying no and just wanted to get them out of all of the family members faces.

I highly doubt that anyone was sleeping in the red car. This is Arizona, hot, hot and hot again.

It was 99 degrees that day. The evenings were cool, however. Probably in the high 50s or low 60s. I wouldn't want to sleep in a car, but some people don't have a choice or other place *to* sleep I suppose.

Not everyone speaks with proper grammar when talking about someone. Good ole grammar has gone "down the tubes".

Maybe someone was sleeping OUTSIDE with that pillow in the disabled car?

I don't know what to make of the car. I mean, I could see myself keeping things I would take to the game there. Rather than in the house. Just more convenient?
When my daughter played softball, my son was only about 2, and I always brought a blanket and pillow for him in case he got tired. I just don't know..

What ever happened to the rumor that she was taken to Mexico? Does anyone know where that started? Did LE ever say anything about it? I've been asking around town what people think happened and Mexico has come up a lot. Thanks.

I don't remember there being a rumour that she was taken to Mexico but I have been known to forget things lol

There was talk of Mexico that I do remember because the border was so close. The police did alert the Mexian authorities very early on at one border crossing - people questioned if another had been alerted as well.

I think the whole Mexico thing always comes up in every missing child/person case, one day we will actually see a missing child that does end up there without a parent holding their hand.

They said that about Samantha Koenig too so it doesn't even just stay around border states.

I think with this particular case "only" and a home with at least 3500 sq feet, there is enough floor space even for a sleeping bag rather than a car. JMO

JMO, even people who use bad grammar generally know the difference between "doesn't" and "didn't".

Well I am just thinking about this-JM put himself out there and has been very scrutinized, Isabella's parents did not put themselves out there and have been scrutinized for that..FWIW.

Well can anyone really blame them now, if they have heard what all is being said about JM for putting himself out there :/

I see your concerns. I just don't think it is something to jump to the conclusion that he is guilty of this awful thing. I can see how it could happen and be perfectly innocent. jmo

I think no matter who it is, if they are close to the family, or they are family, and are out in the media, or not out in the media, they will be scrutinized by someone.

So Patty, what is your theory, a stranger abduction?

Why is it everyone is so obsessed with JM over the other family members, how can any of you get a feeling about him when he has only said a few things on camera? Please tell me if it was uncovered that he has been arrested, convicted, suspected of being a child predator or a predator for that matter.

Well we can all get whatever feelings we feel. How can you NOT get a feeling about him? I have followed this story from day one, I have read every thread here, every thread on similar sites, every news article and I small a rat, I have a gut feeling and I may be right or I may be wrong. I am sharing my feelings with others who have read everything too (and we don't always agree) but we learn from each other, we can see why the other person is thinking that way. Many people, especially from here have excellent insight and incredible sleuthing skills, they put in the hard yards themselves and share that information with others, then the others determine their own beliefs.

no one is right and no one is wrong.

One point you made is that we are all judging him on a few words he said - that is NOT the case at all, there have been many things shared eg: HE calls himself an Uncle on HIS page.

I have no life :) That was discussed last night among many of my friends here that seem to also be missing lives :)

Weather ranges from one zip code to the next by proximity to mountains, etc. My zip code reported the above that day. But here's the almanac for Tucson: http://tucsonweather.us/2012/04/page/2/. Probably as recorded down by the airport...

Either way, it was Tucson in April. Hot/quite warm (relatively speaking... LOL).

The family always gets scrutinized imo if the child is too young to be considered a runaway and if LE can't name or describe any obvious suspects.

Don´t know if this has been posted before?
And basicly this IS hearsay,
Respectfully shortened

This link has a video of the police chief proving details.

Police Chief Roberto Villasenor told the NBC affiliate that canine units alerted police to a "new direction" and officers were working with the dog handlers to interpret the latest discovery inside the home of missing first-grader Isabel Mercedes Celis. Dogs from an FBI canine unit from Virginia began searching the home after midnight Monday, police said. One dog has training in tracking scents, the other is a cadaver-sniffing dog.

"We have information obtained from the dogs that necessitate our follow-up investigation," Chief Villasenor said at a news conference. "In order to do that, we secured the residence. We've asked the family to leave the residence so we don't have to talk about any other contamination of the scene."

So Patty, what is your theory, a stranger abduction?

From the onset, I have always felt that it is someone within the family circle that knows the routine of the household, layout of the home, etc., etc.

Totally agree. But who really knows? Perhaps someone came home drunk and just crashed in the vehicle. I surely don't have these answers. :/
