I haven't seen the video. Could she be saying, "Sorry, baby" or "I'm sorry, baby"?

That's what sort of looks like, she says whatever it is twice, one right before he finishes and again as he is finishing. At least, that's what it looks like to me.

For whatever reason, I woke up today suspicious of BC. Can't really put my finger on why. Some of her statements keep nagging me, but I can't really tell what, if that makes any sense. Maybe it is a sense of overconfidence. I'm not set in this suspicion yet though, I see all the reasons for her being innocent - its just a feeling a woke up today with.

holy ****. reposting for those of us who are just waking up to the 15 new pages on the thread:

http://www.kvoa.com/news/police-cps-has-increased-involvement-in-celis-investigation/

Below is the TPD news release, in full:

"In the course of the continuing investigation into the disappearance of six year-old Isabel Celis, the Tucson Police Department has been in contact with Child Protective Services (CPS). Recently, detectives became aware of information regarding the welfare of the older Celis children. That information was shared with CPS for their consideration and determination relating to this investigation. Yesterday, CPS personnel responded to police headquarters to consult with detectives as well as the family. Subsequent to their assessment, CPS instituted certain measures to ensure the continued welfare of the Celis children. It needs to be stressed that is common practice for CPS to become involved in investigations regarding missing children. However, in keeping with our commitment to keep members of the media and our community informed of changes or developments in this investigation, we felt it important to advise you of the increased involvement of CPS.

Finally, because of the sensitive nature of this investigation, we will not be providing any additional information on this situation at this time."

Very disturbing news. I know some of you have suspicions about dad but I'm going to have to say that mom was/is the one on my radar.

The last interview they had with local reporters threw me for a spin and from then on, I've suspected something wasn't right.

70 people here already. wow. shelby i see your light.

i know nothing (nothing) of cps or arizona laws; it's obvious either the parents had no problem with or had no legal right to object to the older child being taken to the home for questioning unescorted by counsel or guardian...but is there a possibility that the involvement of cps now has nothing to do with the past? that the children being separated from a parent is a direct result of one of the kids wanting to talk but feeling threatened and the only way to ensure their safety (and confession/statement) is to remove the parent that wants to keep him quiet?

just a thought. not too many of them this morning. lol.

:seeya:

BBM: Makes total sense to me ... JMO but BOTH BC and SC's statements indicated "deception", and I noticed this in their very 1st interview ...

ETA: I forgot to add this about Becky : JMO, but I found it strange that she never checked on Isabel BEFORE she left for work the morning Isabel was reported "missing" ... I would "think" most mothers would check on their children -- especially a 6 year old -- BEFORE they go to work, just to make sure they are okay, KWIM ?

I was just thinking about something, and do not want to open a :worms: ...

But NOW that the "focus" has SHIFTED to EITHER BC or SC, I wonder what happened to the UNCLE / COUSIN -- JM ? Hmmm ...

JMO ... but I think there is going to be a "break" in this case ...

:moo:

First off he sings beautifully. And it looks like she lips Sorry baby I love you. I also feel like she is the one that rules the relationship and family, he looks to be the emotional type and not the kind to keep a secret for too long. His emotions would get in the way and maybe he would have more of a conscience, where she is very stoic and stone faced and looks in total control of herself and probably the people around her. This case will not end good and I have believed from the beginning that is was one of the family. I just pray Isabel is not dead and with relatives in Mexico and this was done for sympathy and money, hence all the fundraisers within the last 2 or 3 weeks this has been going on. JMHO.

Would CPS get involved if there were threats to the children by a third party? Not necessarily the parents?

Watch Becky while Sergio was singing Ave Maria, she never looks up at him she looks downward the whole time and never smiles or anything, granted she is basically in mourning so that is understandable but if I had a wife I would hope she would look at me with some sort of pride while I was singing like that, she never does. Whats the deal there?

IIRC I thought she looked like she was avoiding looking at him in the two earlier interviews as well. Not sure what it means but it stood out to me.

I guess they might but how would that translate into a no-contact order against a parent? I think that most of the time two parents would be able to do a better job protecting their child from a third party threat than a single parents. That's twice as many eyes and ears and hands to keep on top of things.
One of the parents might be refusing to cut off contact with the threatening party I guess.

True. I guess I'm still trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are not involved but it's getting more difficult to do so.

I think mom snapped that night. Perhaps too much to drink. She was the second to last allegedly with Isabel (braiding her hair). Perhaps Isabel was too tired to have her hair braided and just wanted to sleep and mom perhaps with a few beers at the ballgame was not in the mood to have a little girl control her and tell her what to do.

IMO, mom has issues.

BBM - YES! I've always felt like she was the more "dominant" one in the relationship. I've suspected all along that she is the one who didn't want anyone talking to the media - but for whatever reason I believed her reasoning. She didn't like being in front of the camera, She didn't want her family on the camera. But would the more dominant one allow something to be happening under their own roof? And then last night I was reading a lot of posters talk about substance abuse, and drinking, and for whatever reason I see BC more likely to relapse. She is just SO in control of her emotions, SO confident, seemingly controlling the families decisions. And I have noticed some tension with her and Sergio, her not wanting to look at him etc...and originally I thought she might suspect him of some wrongdoing. But what if it is really guilt?

All I know is that before she was off my radar, and now shes back on. I hope we can get some more info today. :banghead:

Edit to say: Still keeping it in the back of my head that she is the one who said they didn't want to "screw something else up" (I believe was the wording).

This may seem a bit off the wall, but I'm wondering if one of the parents has been molesting the boys.
Just thinking as to why the boys have been given to one parent.
