:floorlaugh::blushing: you and me both! I am up waiting to pick up my son from a date at the movies. I am obsessively pressing refresh and WS is not cooperating. I think I need a no contact order from this place....

Oh My Gosh!!!!!!!!!

I am wondering if there is a 12 Step Program for Recovery from these cases.

I just decided I am staying up for the long haul tonight, unless I fall asleep on my computer!

The parent is always seen by CPS as guilty of child neglect if his/her child illegally takes drugs. CPS's safety plan (in which the child received mental health assistance) was implemented because of child neglect. CPS can insert themselves into a child's life only if the child is deemed to be abused or neglected. CPS can't insert themselves and make a case for children who only need mental health services.

Not quite so in NY. One of my daughters was majorly into drugs and arrested several times. I implored the school, CPS, ANYone for a PINS (person in need of supervision) filing. None came. CPS cleared me on several occasions where she claimed abuse (nice try, kidlet) and allowed my daughter to continue on her path. The only mental health assistance she got was at my own expense. She was hospitalized three times for drugs, underwent 2 years of IOP and aftercare. She was known to be taking illegal drugs, and not once was I held culpable as the custodial parent of a minor. Maybe that's just NY?

Quick recap:
Tucson Police Department called Child Protective Services after detectives became aware of information regarding the welfare of the older Celis children. Yesterday, CPS instituted certain measures to ensure the continued welfare of the Celis children which included a no contact order for one of the parents and the kids only living with one parent.

For some reason, I am feeling that this information would not have been released. Maybe just the info that CPS is assuring the welfare of the children, but nothing else. I am thinking this is media hype!

I believe both parents have DUI's in their past. If I'm wrong, please correct me. It is possible that one of the parents has turned to alcohol during this stressful time.

I would think it would have to be pretty bad if that was the case.

If it's media hype, it's catching. KGUN9.com is also reporting the non-custodial parent is not allowed to see the boys.

It is also possible that one parent has been an alcoholic for years.

I would probably be drinking myself to sleep. It might be that is what is happening, and if that person is inconsolable, then it is not a good fit.

Bless you, pieper. Sounds like you did everything you could ~ Hope the outlook is better for you and your daughter now.

Perhaps a sober alcoholic for a long time. Stress like this can cause a relapse. Pure speculation, but it fits a certain pattern.

I have heard of quite a few nurses around here getting hooked on prescription narcotics, and doing things nobody who knew them would believe. I am not saying this is the case here but who knows....This is why i cant decide on who has the kids now. So many different scenarios.

TPD said the developments leading to the custody change are “significant." Those developments also have Ariz. Child Protective Services taking an active role in the case.

Lt. Fabian Pacheco told KGUN9 detectives, as recently as Thursday, “came into some information which they considered to be important enough to share with Child Protective Services. They contacted these folks, they sent one of their personnel here to police headquarters.”

Pacheco said that CPS representative met with Tucson police and then with the Celis family. He stressed that is common practice in missing child cases and CPS has been involved with this case since about the beginning.

Pacheco said CPS has “instituted some safety measures to ensure the children's welfare." The department clarified by email late Friday, stating Isabel's two older siblings are now in the custody of one parent and the other parent is not allowed to see the children. The department wouldn't elaborate further.

“There's a lot of details that I can't share with you: what got us to this point, what was that information,” Pacheco.

Significant developments?

Sorry if this has already been asked but do we know if the one parent and the kids are staying at their own home now? Or did they leave the house and only the parent w/ the no contact order is staying at their home?

Awww, thank you. No it's not. She opted to move from Tucson back to NY with her father and has had no contact with us (myself, her twin and other sister, grandfather, cousins) since then. That was 2008. But I digress. LOL.

My personal experience with CPS is far from what I see portrayed here. Again, that may be unique to NYC. I don't know. Even though her father had a criminal record for physical abuse, CPS never prohibited him from contacting/seeing her throughout the 13+ years in the court system. I don't get it.

I would think a 'no contact' order would be the result of something being done to one of the boys, whether physical or psychological.

I am wondering if there were relationship issues before the disappearance of Isa.

Remember the original, "We feel there are no custodial issues at this time." (or something like that) from LE, and some of us went "Huh?"

That wasn't even a question we had... yet.

Now this horrific experience has possibly exasperated the situation.

Drinking may have been one of the factors... now it has become a greater one!

I am wondering if one of the boys told a teacher that one of his parents had been driving them while drunk. If so, LE could not arrest them at the time, but could contact CPS with the accusations, as a way to prevent it from continuing.

Dui, vapors (smoking weed), open container, kids in car, nurse with access to pills etc. Could Becky be fighting addiction? I dont know but it is as good a guess as those who think Sergio is somehow involved with the Mexican drug cartels and in deep enough debt to them that they would take his kid...

MAYBE this is why they dont do a lot of media, one of them isnt fit for being in front of cameras because of drinking problem etc, again I have no clue and this would likely not have anything to do with the case but could be a reason for CPS to step in, IMO if the cops found out something that had to do with the case they would not consult with CPS, cops dont consult with anyone when they have a case break or good info for their case, so this suggests to me UNREALTED TO CASE but likely a parenting problem stemming from stress and pressure because of missing child.

I am probably wrong.
