From the get-go, I thought it was very strange that Isabel's parents did not speak to the media to plea for the safe return of their daughter. When they did appear, their "statements" were scripted, and the dad's histrionic "meeting (your) demands" speech was just plain bizarre. There was an uncomfortable disconnect between Isa's parents, at which time my hinky-meter went berserk and hasn't regulated itself since. :moo:
I's so very strange to me when people are pleading for something and shaking their head "no" at the same time, kwim?

After a lot of thought, I have a theory about mom and dad and why they have acted the way they have, but it's kind of out in left field and pure speculation, so I'm going to leave it alone.

Suffice it to say, I think they are married in legalities, parenting and appearances only.

Bingo. IMO. This is where Gwedin may come in.

I'm not reading much into "one to one" or "one on one" coming from LE. I think he meant that they should sit down with the media, probably together, in an interview setting. In other words, with a reporter/interviewer talking to them and asking them questions. Not that the interviewer needs to interview each parent separately. We know that LE has interviewed each parent separately already.

That was my impression as well; suggesting a sit-down interview such as would occur on one of the morning shows as opposed to standing at a podium facing a pool of media with another scripted statement.

MOO

Do I remember correctly that LE requested footage/pictures of Isabel at her ball game on the Friday evening?

Did they get anything/confirm she was there?

Yes, one friend even told how Isa choked on potato chips and she gave her a drink of water.

As to their not returning to the home, when a house is searched by investigators, detectives and dogs, it gets very messy. Finger print dust, carpet samples taken, Isa's room turned upside down, and everything else in disarray. I can see why it might take a while to become habitable again. Plus the emotional factors.

Are we talking about a situation with a possible girlfriend ("the other woman", if you will) or am I misinterpreting?

IF there's a girlfriend (speculating), is there possibly a boyfriend of the mom, too?

Who is Gwedin?

I agree with you Bette, about the offer to meet demands being odd.

The uncomfortable disconnect could just be the way they (or he) normally are together. :moo:

I say this because my husband is the same way. He is not emotionally close to me at all, and he never ever comforts me...not during childbirth, not when my parents or brother died, not ever! This is not okay with me at all, and if we were ever on tv during a stressful situation, people would probably think something hinky was up too. Maybe Isabelle's parents are like us, and if they are, my heart goes out to the wife, it's a rotten way to live!

Here is the video from ABC with the local's comments in the comment section.

Here is the video interview the news did with the same person who made the comment.

She's the employee in the nearby store who spoke to Isa's brother that morning.

Thank you for posting it correctly for me!!

Also interesting that the 7-8 year old son was sent there to see if they had seen Isa.

Just wanted to correct that the sons are 14 and 10.

It was the youngest son?

Hi Surfie!.. Not sure at all that you are thinking anything even remotely similar to what my initial and immediate thoughts were about the disconnect between husband and wife.. You could be thinking something entirely different.. I too thought very long and hard about my initial thoughts and did finally decide to post them with disclaimers of moo.. And that if what I am even purposing were in fact found to be true that it still in no way directly is indicative that either or both parents were in any way involved in Isa's disappearance.. The only reason I felt compelled to even post my opinion was that possibly it is this that is raising such alarm and alert to our hinky meters.. Idk?.. As I said what your thoughts are may be nothing similar to mine but wanted to post the link to my post I made about 36 or so hours ago to let you know that no matter what your exact thought or opinion is.. That you're not alone in feeling and seeing the obvious disconnect between the two parents and that for possibly entirely different reasons that I, too believe its quite possibly a marriage of convenience.. Or for specific arrangements that have nothing to do with being in love with each other... And again this is nothing but MOO..

Here's the link to my post:

So, is it being speculated that "G" is possibly closer to the family than just a casual aquaintance from shopping at the convenience store?

The comment about Isabel not being in school, on that news site, seems to be an off-the-cuff remark based on whatever she heard on NG...not someone saying she knows Isabel was not in school.
