Just read this:

Quotes:

TUCSON -

person may have molested three children on the east side early this morning.

deputies were called to a home near Catalina Highway and Snyder at approximately 2 a.m. this morning for a report of three small children who were possibly being molested by a man who may have broken into the home, according to department spokesperson Deputy Dawn Barkman.

The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived.

I belive this is ca.10 miles north/east of Isabels home

Here is a map of:
Isabel's home
The address of where 3 children was molested 2AM today
Isabel's school:

Another attempt to steal children from their home right after Isabel disappeared proves Isabel's abduction wasn't an isolated crime.

To be fair, they didn't say this was an attempted abduction right? I know when I lived in Miami break-ins/assaults happened all the time unfortunately.

Is the school far enough away that Isabel had to be driven there? Is there bus service for the charter school?

No bus service for charter schools, as far as I know, so she would have to be driven, as would each of her brothers. (It's my understanding that one brother attended the charter's middle school and the other attended the charter's high school.)

Read post #562 - It's confirmed. :(

All I see confirmed is a break in and possible molestation. But not an attempted abduction..unless I am missing something.

Distance in Tucson in terms of how fast you can get to a place varies widely and mostly depends on how many dang stoplights are between here and there...between Isabel's house and school there's a ton of stoplights and I am proly underestimating the time,is proly closer to 20 minutes at least...between the school and the Catalina Hwy/Snyder area, fewer stoplights, maybe 10 minutes? perhaps 15.

Just saw this on the Find Isabel facebook page, if any of the locals are interested. I have to say, I've never heard of a "music video" being filmed for a missing child, but hey, you never know..it might really help bring awareness. :)

I must be missing something too. It sounded to me like some creep broke in, attempted to molest the children, then ran out. He wasn't trying to abduct them, from what I read. Although, honestly, if he hadn't got scared and ran out who knows what would have happened.

I later saw this person was suspected of molesting children inside the home but it still shows that sex offenders often strike during the night while children are asleep alone in their bedrooms and to beware.

This news alarmed me.

Why are the balloons and ribbons purple? I thought Isa favourite colour is blue?
Don't vigils etc use the child's favourite colours?

Well that is your right to believe but it is wrong, very wrong, to assume anyone who hires representation is guilty or has something to hide.

I wont get in to that further because I wont be able to keep my emotions in check, its a grave and serious matter IMO to assume that of people who hire attorneys. It is discrimination of the highest rank.

There are countless reasons to hire an attorney in a case like this none of which imply guilt.

I'm an attorney too and this may anger you, but when I read that parents of a missing child lawyer up right away, I feel they are hiding something. I believe in equal access to the law which is why I do a ton of Legal Aid cases on a volunteer basis. I believe in the right to representation. But when there have been no charges and no indication that LE is unfairly targeting the innocent to the detriment of the investigation, I see no need for an attorney, at the very beginning of the case.

This report makes no sense. A report of three small children who were possibly BEING molested? How about who may have BEEN molested? Being implies an act in progress. If that was the case wouldn't it be, "Report of a shooting. Man found in children's room, possibly assaulting them. Parent shot intruder."????? Or, something like that?

My husband and I were watching the Predators/Coyotes hockey game lastnight which was in Glendale AZ and the camera went to the coach of the Coyotes and zoomed in and there was a little girl that was identical to Isabel in a white hoodie. She never took the hoodie off and it was a close up on her face. I have dvr so I rewound it several times and paused it, did a side by side and it was completely identical so much so that I called Glendale PD. I watched the remaining 1 1/2 and never saw any PD check this out but I would almost put my life on it to say that was her. I'm trying to find a replay of the game but so far no luck.

Just catching up apologies if this was already mentioned- maybe they did send someone, but an undercover as opposed to a uniformed cop, which would spook the perp, etc.

bbm, maybe but I have a 10 and 14 yo and they do not go to bed at the same time. the older one gets to stay up a little later.

I have a friend with twins who are 12. They stayed up until 10:30 in 5th grade because that gave them 8 hours to sleep before getting up for school. They have now started Junior High and school starts an hour earlier. The kids STILL need 8 hours sleep, but that means their bedtime is now EARLIER (by an hour) than when they attended Elementary School.

Most places have different start times for Elementary, Middle and High Schools as they share a bus that has to finish the first run before starting the second. If the 14 year old has to be up earliest and Isabel gets up last, then putting them all to bed at, say, 10PM is not unreasonable.

Going from my fallible memory here but I thought I had it mapped as less than ten minutes away by vehicle...
Will grab links and screenies, bbs.

7.7 miles but 20 minutes (traffic)

As a Tucson native and current resident, I can tell you that the Celis home is right smack in the middle of town. The park near her house is not a very popular one, but like many we have scattered throughout the metro area. Pretty much no matter what side of town you live on in Tucson, you are within 30 minutes of a high desert/mountainous region. As far as ground searches...I have no idea where they would even start! There are plenty of areas around town and just outside of the metro areas where a body could be disposed of. BTW, a few pages back I noticed some discussion regarding whether or not the 'trailer' seen on Google maps of the Office Max parking lot is still there, if anyone is interested I could easily walk by and tale some pics or even a video-

Definitely alarming. I just don't want to jump to thinking it was an attempted abduction. While we consider both crimes to be despicable and horrible, there is a real difference in someone willing to break in and assault someone and then leave, and someone willing to kidnap a child (which would involve follow through after they do whatever it is they intend to do). Break in/assaults happen far more frequently.

Just as brazen though, right? Who breaks into a home to molest sleeping children? I need to hear more about this story, though. Something is off.

Break in/assaults to children?
