Locals on one news page were saying that the TPD had this video from the get go, and these posters knew it somehow. I guess they work at the church (speculation on rumor--sorry). Anyway, the Chief V stated that they spent days analyzing this video, after he was questioned about the 6th man, and the day after they released the video.

Something is very hinky about all of this.

Could Isabel's parents want compensation for media appearances? If they believe that there will be "demands" to be met to get their daughter back, maybe they would be more willing to appear on TV shows if they're paid (for photos, video, etc.). Just a thought... :moo:

So this surveillance video is from a security business that sells this kinds of video equipment, yet they don't have a date/time stamp on it?

No. this is not from Moore. This is from St. Joes parking lot.

I sure get the feeling that LE has something they want the public to know but they want the family to put it out there.

It's the frigging FBI, they do not make mistakes and did this for a reason. :moo:

I'm trying to link the photograph that Foreign Person (forgive me if that's not the right poster name) posted that was an aerial shot depicting where the five walkers and creeper shadow man were in relation to the Celis home and other buildings. Can someone help me? I think it would be helpful in this conversation if we had the image to refer back to.

Which news site?

Right, why did those reporters not ask how he knew the time, but not the date.

Lt. Pacheco was so nonchalant about the video being from the wrong date. If it's true, this is HUGE, yet he seem unfazed by it. I am completely nonplussed!

To paraphrase Jose Baez again, "Something is just not right here."

When the very first person in the video came forward and said, hey, that's me, but it was Saturday night, not Friday, right then the correct video should have been located and reviewed.
Who knows if it is still out there? I have no idea if it is on re-recordable media, if the police were given more than one nights worth of footage...couldn't they see LE traffic all over that video in the earlier hours leading up to the walkers proving that it was Saturday?
I don't get it. How horribly frustrating.

Obviously yesterday when one man had come forward, LE was told it was video from Saturday. That is why they were downplaying the creeper, because they already knew it was the wrong night. If it really was the wrong night.

I can post the image I posted at the start of the discussion of where the walkers were.

Maybe the video was date/time stamped, but had the wrong date. It is a leap year; if the time isn't kept very accurate that could explain why it's a day behind. Not all surveillance video systems are automatically updated with the correct date and time (you'd think they are, but they aren't).

Doesn't explain the lack of LE/activity in the area, though.

I'm thisclose to calling one of the reporters from the show and giving them a list of questions to ask at tomorrow's presser!

Regarding the BAU, are they still in town? Could this be some sort of FBI-led strategy?

I have the same question. This does not make sense at all!

Things usually dont make sense when you dont have all the facts, and we dont have them. The police are doing the best they can. (Wow did I just defend LE, that is a first!)

From Smooth's transcription (BBM):

-TPD always told the parents to speak to media.. And it is absolutely inaccurate that we ever told them NOT TO SPEAK WITH MEDIA..

-Another reason we need the parents to speak with you.. A lot of questions can be cleared up and answered by the parents

(Family) working with us and answering some of our questions(stood out to me.. WHY SOME?)

Hoping they will speak to you so u can judge for yourself.. I can tell you they show a level of concern..

-Meet with both parents at the briefings.. Other individuals.. We will not comment on any others that are present at meetings..

Facinating what Pacheco says without really saying it. From this conversation, I gleen that the family does indeed already have representation and that they are attending LE meetings...that the family is only answering SOME of LE's questions...and that LE very, very much wants the family to talk to the media because then they will HAVE to answer questions or invoke the immortal words, "On the advice of our attorney, we can't talk about that..."

I would LOVE to see them on a media show. Among the first questions asked would likely be, "Have you taken a lie detector test?" And I betcha they'll answer, "On the advice of our attorney..." blah blah blah. I only hope that their interviewee doesn't agree to a statement only or agree to limited questions.

This has now become crystal clear to me. I don't know if their daughter's alive or dead, but no question in my mind now as to what is really going on here.

If the footage really is from the next day, I think that it makes the "lurking man" look even more suspicious.

  • #716
Right, why did those reporters not ask how he knew the time, but not the date.

It makes no sense, does it? And when I see how close it is to their house....

If they ARE trying to get focus off this 6th man, it's not working.

Who is calling the shots here, because there's something going on behind the scenes and why the parents are being quiet, why it might 'become a cold case' etc. Something is up with this lack of information (or I watch too many crime shows.)

For what reason though ?

I don't know! I don't know that they are lying. I'm questioning and very baffled.

I'm thisclose to calling one of the reporters from the show and giving them a list of questions to ask at tomorrow's presser!

Regarding the BAU, are they still in town? Could this be some sort of FBI-led strategy?

Please, please do send a list of questions. And ask the reporters to visit websleuths so they can see what we are talking about and what is important to us.

It couldn't have taken this long to find out they had video from the wrong night. I don't believe what LE is saying about this. I also think the parents are not talking on camera because they're afraid of someone.

I think the parents and LE know who has Isabel and why. MOO

BBM.

Are the FBI Behavior Analysts (I think that's what they are called) still on this case?

North of the Office Max, on the East side of the complex.

I thought that is a Shoe Pavilion or is the Google map wrong and it has changed? I am so confused and trying to keep straight what is located where. I know you are local and know the area but just want to confirm. Thanks!

didnt one of the locals drive by the area in the video and say there were remnants of police tape around the lamp post? Obviously there is no tape up in the video.. so, either 1). The video is actually from the 'correct' day or 2). The police put up crime tape after seeing the video and searching that area. I dunno... seems to me that entire neighborhood would have had a heavy police (and press) presence for several nights after Isabel went missing.
