This was the church camera...btw.

Also, a lot of surveillance cameras require you to set the date/time yourself. I had one years ago that I never set the date/time on, so the video it took had time stamps showing years beforehand.

Day 10: Surveillance video released from incorrect day

snipped

Tucson Police are working with the company who released the video to get the correct video. They are also working their investigation in cooperation with Pima County Sheriffs Department.

That is how Pacheco made it sound. They were given the wrong tape by the "company".

Lark, just curious, and anyone else who is leaning towards suspecting the family, what are your motive theories?

I am not convinced because I can't come up with one. In other so far unsolved cases where the family is suspected, I "get" the motive, not to say there is ever a reasonable one, but there is usually drugs, alcohol, previous abuse, extreme obsessions with violence, etc... But I am open to hear theories.

I'm not sure entirely...some will depend on the result of the FBI's pending forensics. But I feel that it may involve financial gain, some how, some way. Perhaps someone felt they could stage an abduction by working with others, raise ransom funds through donations, and then get Isabel back and split the ransom proceeds. Or the reward? If so, she may well be alive, tucked away at a relative's house, maybe even in Mexico. Or, maybe there is no motive other than something got out of hand in the home that night and she was mortally wounded and the family's closing ranks.

But, yeah, after today's press conference, it wouldn't matter to me if a spaceship had been spotted in the Office Max parking lot that night with funny green men exiting it, because I really feel now that LE is all but saying the family is not cooperating. And it can't go on much longer.

You could be on to something....leap year would make today April 30th, show up as May 1st. When in fact because of the extra day, it's only the 30th.

But they said it's not time-stamped and I don't believe that. Even old VHS recorders were time-stamped and newer recording systems would be likely on a computer.

But you could be on to something if the time stamp on whatever recording device did not take into account leap year.....:waitasec:

What I want to know is HOW they at the 11th hour come to realize it's the wrong date? The eyewitness? The 5. Surely after they talked to the first guy (who supposedly self-identified as being there on the day we all thought!) could have set the record straight. I would know from Friday to Saturday what I was doing, especially only a week later!

Maybe this is a regular walk for them.

Where are people getting the idea that the parents are not cooperating? I listened to today's presser and I didn't get that impression. The Lt. said the parents are still cooperating with LE and they are in daily (at least) contact with each other.

Why do we think LE is admitting this now ? Who does it benefit ? MOO

  • #748
I watched the presser and I am just so confused that I want to bang my head against something. I have believed Isa was taken by a neighboor or some sort of family friend or even a relative. Someone that had probably been inside the home before made more sense to me, but even some creep that had been watching her could have just decided to grab her. I am just rambling now. So... the wrong video... that is just bizarre. But why on EARTH does the man say such things as "level of concern" and "some" questions? Is this the normal way the police speak of families that are in this situation? I am new here and just don"t know what to think. Maybe it is just the way it is usually worded. I honestly don"t know.

Pacheco gives me zero confidence. The parents give me zero confidence. The media gives me zero confidence. That poor little girl. :(

I think it just way the LT. said things...that they are "answering some of our questions" and how much he presses on that LE WANTS them to talk to media...JMO

I'm trying to link the photograph that Foreign Person (forgive me if that's not the right poster name) posted that was an aerial shot depicting where the five walkers and creeper shadow man were in relation to the Celis home and other buildings. Can someone help me? I think it would be helpful in this conversation if we had the image to refer back to.

Here you go:

But most of those comments were made as responses to the reporters who were pressing him for anything about the parents. He was reluctant to speak for the parents he said, but the reporters kept pressing and pressing.

They are probably trying to put pressure on the family to cooperate more and answer more questions than they have been willing to answer so far. Maybe they've caught them in a lie and want answers.

I agree, I don't think the parents are involved in anyway shape or form. I hate it when people jump to conclusions that the parents are involved when in fact their hearts are breaking for the loss of their child. People kidnap children from their bedrooms all the time. Especially in this case where little Isabel was across the house from the parents bedroom and her bedroom window was so easy to get into. The neighbor heard the barking dogs at 6:30am and also heard men talking. I think she was kidnapped for the sex trade. They need to find her fast. She was one gorgeous little girl that played out in the front of the house all the time. Think how many sexual predators were able to see her! So Sad...

JVM reporting on the crime from this morning "Just coming to us!"

Which news site?

I am fairly sure that it was on TucsonNewsNow, but as I went to look for the comment I see it is gone now. I see the comments before and after it. The person might have removed it if he or she worked for the security company who provided the video --in retrospect they did not do a good job either---sorry to laugh here.

I thought I posted about it here on WS, but I have not found that post yet.

Yeah, I don't know what to think...LE seems frustrated that parents are not more vocal and visible on Isabel's behalf, I think...but maybe they do want to watch them answering questions on the spot, maybe FBI has suggested they try to prod them into doing interviews...who knows...

I wish we knew if LD tests were taken and passed...I know it only means something to people who believe in them, but still...it is useful to a degree, I think...or to know if anyone refused. This info almost ALWAYS leaks out by now...

JVM stating on HLN that she's going to have breaking news about the break-in, sexual assault of the 3 little girls in Tucson.

The parents certainly don't act as if their hearts are breaking. LE all but said they are not cooperating completely and not answering all of their questions. They have acted suspicious from the very beginning, so I don't see where anyone has jumped to any conclusions.

And children are in fact, NOT kidnapped from their bedrooms all the time.
