I'm still not convinced anyone with knowledge of anything did lead them to her remains.
It doesn't sound like they were found where they were left, since they were partial.
Maybe a hiker just stumbled on them, like so many other cases...
After Caylee's discovery I can see a witness being concerned about repercussions too.

How would the killer or new evidence lead them to the remains?
Is it even feasible that these remains were left while the other remains were removed?
I figured these had been dragged from the original burial site.
Maybe I've been looking at it all wrong.

No, you're not. I agree with you.
I also believe that she was probably in a shallow grave and over the years some of her bones were desecrated.
The new evidence may have come from the tip line, like a call from a hiker out with a dog who had discovered the bones.
How far out did they extend the search area after finding the bones?

Bump for dear Isa

After missing nearly 5 years, only a piece of a child’s skull and hip were found in remote area of Pima County -- they were not enough to get identification, and the pieces were sent to an out of state laboratory for DNA testing, and positively identified as belonging to Isabel.

Police stated that Isabel’s remains were not found by “happenstance.” But, they never elaborated on what that exactly means. If it was not a coincidence, how much longer before we learn who/what led them to these remains? Please, Justice for Isabel!

not found by happenstance..imagine seeing s small piece of skull and bone in a remote area..I mean would the average person even take note of it? no! enough to say this curved piece of skull is from a human skull and call the police???

no way..why cant they connect the dots? how were LE led to those remains of this child who was murdered ,discarded and found in pieces.

CRIME TRACKERS
March 30, 2018, Updated April 9, 2018

In May of 2017, News 4 Tucson obtained a copy of the case summary report dated March 3rd - which was just a few weeks prior to Chief Magnus announcement (Isa remains found), and the date matches the date of death listed on flyers handed out at Isabel Celis Memorial.

The case summary report said an unidentified man somehow involved in the investigation said he was afraid for his family following TPD’s announcement, and another report showed that an unidentified man was questioned regarding the death of Celis. The report also said the man adamantly denied any involvement, and it is not known if he is still under investigation. Was it the same man???

The autopsy report came out in October of 2017-- but only a piece of skull and small piece of pelvis available with no forensic value of how Isabel died.

No other information has since been reported....

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm still working my way through the reports but a few interesting tidbits from the first few:

- Sergio's neighbor knew the father, felt that something wasn't right with the situation and felt that the father was involved for sure. He wanted to talk with police and it was noted that he was/would be interviewed later.
- A landfill was guarded as soon as notice of her disappearance got to LE
- There were reddish brown stains in a red 1988 Acura parked on the west side of the residence (was this the cousin's car?)

Isabel disappeared on April 20, 2012, and the police reports (#1-6) you're referencing at link essentially cover only 3 day period or 4/20-23. Nothing of any value in those reports -- It was a "public pleasing" release that also includes reporting from the typical crackpots that contact law enforcement. Believe me, anything actionable and/or of real interest has never been released by law enforcement....

Isabel, Haily Dunn, Lindsey Baum, Kyron Hormon. Kyron is the only one who is still missing. I hope one day we have arrests and answers in all these cases.

N4T Investigators: News conference links cases of two murdered Tucson children

Multiple sources have told the News 4 Tucson Investigators that this joint news conference has to do with the murders of Isabel Celis and Maribel Gonzales.

Isabel's body was "It was in the general area where 13-year-old Maribel Gonzales' body had been dumped two years earlier."

This sounds hopeful, I must admit I had not heard of Maribel's case. Hope justice is coming for these two precious girls.

Holy Carp!!! After all this time, we'll finally know what happened to Isa!!! Timing is a little wonky (pressor on Sat), and only one news agency is reporting on this?
