Thank you for your reply.

I don't know why the thought of him being a meth user terrifies me to death but it does.

Maybe it is because we have learned from the Holly Bobo case how extremely violent, cruel, and sadistic some meth users can be.

To know he had Bella alive from 11:30pm until probably 2:30am at least is heartbreaking to even have to think about.:(

IMO

Yes oceanblueeyes, Holly Bobo's case and many, many others... There is one common denominator that comes up in virtually every sexual predator/serial killer case that I have researched since the 1980s(CA Speed Freak Killers); 'Meth'...either directly or indirectly... Meth increases labido and imo, long term use/abuse creates psychopathic personalities... From Pastors to Politicians, seems no one is excluded. Meth seems to be the catalyst for psychopaths to act out their fantasies, and create new psychopathic tendencies in otherwise normal personalities..jmo

The same reward system in the brain that hooks people to drugs might also explain why some people act like psychopaths.

We know that cold-blooded criminals lack empathy and fear — and are, by societal standards, a bit odd. But new research shows that it is not the traits that psychopaths lack that make them behave badly, it’s the traits that they do have. Not only are psychopaths impulsive, they like to take risks and seek out rewards.

So-called psychopathic traits have been linked to a disruption in the dopamine reward circuitry in the brain. And it is this disruption that drives psychopaths to want money, sex, or fame, in extreme ways.

Psycopaths (now often coyly
labelled sociopaths) are the only real persons, places, things, in
their world. The rest of us are figments of their imagination, in
effect, to be manipulated and used in anyway appropriate and
convenient to their needs. If they believe it to be ultimately useful
to their purposes to be kind and generous and considerate towards
someone, they will -- without limit, if helpful to their ends -- or
if they believe it to be more convenient to destroy someone, they
will. There is no such thing as truth or lies external to them --
which explains why such persons can readily pass lie detector tests,
for example.
A quasi-religious psychiatrist I knew said they were born without
souls. A philosopher long ago came to literally believe that there
are people in this world who are actually not really human beings,
but who absolutely emulate the real thing and are basically
impossible to recognize as non-human. I think he was trying to
explain the psychopath.

"Noriega says the suspect is a father of two, including an 11-year-old girl, and he just can’t imagine Rector hurting any child."

That is new to me.

I wonder if these friends and family members of JR are now wondering about JR's involvement with their own family members... And secretly heaving a sigh of relief (though sad for Bella) that it didn't happen to THEIR kids...

I'm not a spelling snob or a member of the grammar police, but the comments on the FB pages are almost indecipherable.

Sad. This whole case is just so sad.

It is painful to read them, and close to impossible.

Those faces of meth slideshows are crazy. It's so destructive, it's unreal.
As a former user and one who knows many former and / or current :( users, I will say this, without a doubt : Using meth does NOT make a person a pedophile. It just does not !!!!!!!!!! But I think there could be plenty of ' closet' pedophiles who have never acted out and imagine they will NOT act out, but under the influence of meth or other drugs may not care or try to control their urges anymore.

Very sad. here's my two cents.

As soon as I heard about the missing, now deceased Bella, AND that it was in Bullhead City I immediately turned to my SO and said "Meth and either one of the druggie family members or their friends did it."

It sounds stereotypical and harsh, I know, but I can tell you that Bullhead City is full of druggies with a lot of drug-related crimes and arrests. Some asked why the family would go to Walmart at that hour and I can tell you that it is not that unusual. That's because Bullhead City is just a stone's throw away from Laughlin, NV which is a 24 hour town like Las Vegas. Unless you live in one of those areas it might be difficult to understand but people work all kinds of shifts and you just get used to it even if you happen to be a 9 to 5 er. If you wake up because you can't sleep and it's 3 am you can go grocery shopping at a Walmart, Albertson's or Smiths. Hungry? Just a short drive and you can find anything you want. Even some dry cleaners are open and nail salons.

Now of course in drug-infested Bullhead City, the "tweakers" take over Walmart at any hour but especially at night and in the early morning.

I worked in Laughlin, NV and Las Vegas and we immediately knew when folks were from Bullhead City. They all had a similar look and many would try to falsely claim funds in the casino or give you a sob story to try to get a complimentary for food. Sometimes, being human, you'd feel bad because you see an entire family and once you issued a courtesy comp - flocks more of their family and friends would come in and try to scam.

Instead of renting a cheap place in Bullhead City, most of us who worked there would find a place in Laughlin even though it was hundreds of dollars more because Bullhead City is that bad. There is a casino on their Laughlin side called the Riverside and many of the workers were from Bullhead City who had been evicted and would get a job at the Riverside and stay in the trailer homes they provided. The Riverside would issue daily "cash advances" against their pay and the evicted Bullhead City folks would use it for drugs and then get fired and evicted from the trailer park. To this day it is not unusual to find it littered with needles and other drug paraphernalia and even the people in Laughlin tend to stay away from that area.

As far as the family, I am convinced we are just not hearing the whole story. The drugged up family of Bella likely lied to cops. First they said they saw her at 11 pm, then it was a 1 am. Then they said friends were over. Then they said one of the people was like an uncle. There was other people at the home too. They also said they thought that the "Uncle" left. Didn't they check or do folks just come in and out at all hours? The authorities likely had a hard time deciphering through it all.

Perhaps the cops could not be sure if they were telling the truth or not so that's why they did not specifically identify the perp at first. Maybe, because they knew he was a tweaker, they didn't want to spook him and had hopes of finding Bella alive.

All in all, the bottom line is that drugs were more important than their child and they allowed a person with a long record to be around their child.

A terrible tragedy however if you drive through through Bullhead City you will see lots of children living in pseudo drug dens dirty and roaming completely unsupervised by their parents with the adults outside huddled outside drinking beer after they have their drug fix.

The place is that bad.

this may seem off topic but .... the rise of Zombies as a popular theme seems appropriate in relation to the rise in Meth use -- especially after viewing the faces of meth link

Totally agreed.

That is exactly what I've been thinking.

I am pretty sure I saw a post last night, about the horrible smell of the house, that police searchers said it reminded me them of of the "hoarder" shows...did anyone catch that?

Do we have an updated timeline?

I have so many questions but feel like they might get me in trouble :/ Not sure who we can discuss. I'll just wait till more info is released.

he stole underwear, shirt and shoes from Walmart to cover up the crime according to the article at link

"When questioned about her murder, Rector told authorities he could not talk about it and requested an attorney. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 12."

Same day Gabriel Gaeta is scheduled to appear in court and we'll hopefully learn he was found competent to stand trial and he'll be formally charged as an adult. It's going to be an emotional day, that's for sure.

I find both GG and this JR very similar in terms of how they both became 'mute' after the event.....covering up the remains and then feigning innocence to others....

I saw the post. It was posted with a link to an article, but when I went to the article, I didn't see anything about the condition of the house. The article was about the arrest of the perp.
