I would think that the initial report from the sister saying that Rector was there playing with them was truthful. Why would she lie about it, if she didn't realise that mom and Ralphie are later going to say they didn't know he was there?

Right. I agree. What I'm saying is that I think they were playing hide and seek outside as well as downstairs in the living room. It's kind of what I thought all along anyway, then I just saw this report and now I think this even more. It's actually pretty plausible.

Where was the cousin's kid during all of this? She said she left her child with the girls and they were playing hide and seek in the fort. Had the cousin gone back to pick up her child earlier? I remember her saying 11:04 she left and they were all playing in the fort, then she got a call not even an hour later saying Bella was missing. So was her child there when Bella was abducted, or maybe Bella was strangled and then abducted/carried away? Is this child an additional witness?

ETA - NVM I misheard what she said. She left WITH her child... Sorry for the confusion.

I keep remembering the neighbors saying they saw the kids playing hide and seek earlier in the evening.

I thought the cousin said she left with her daughter at 11:04 pm that night, not that she left her daughter there. I could be wrong though.

I am in the middle of a book that many of you may find interesting. Manhunters:Criminal Profilers by Colin Wilson. There is a wealth of information.

Wait, are you saying that if I can't baby you into acting legally, morally and semi intelligently then I need to ignore your offensive behaviors and hope you get tired of me being your doormat and see the error of your ways?

I do not believe I commented as such. My point is to NOT treat them as if they are, using your language, a "baby". I would reserve "scolding" for correcting a consistently-disobedient child, not an adult with an addiction problem . Adult addicts should be dealt with on an adult level. I do not feel there is a need to 'scold' them about their behavior. Deep down I suspect most addicts know their behavior is at least wrong, if not destructive and simply don't give a hoot and holler, they want only to feed the dragon.

Bella was last seen on Monday evening by her sister, who told authorities that they'd been playing hide and seek in the yard with Rector when she went inside to use the bathroom. She returned to an empty yard.

Police say Rector had been living with the family for a few days.

Makes one wonder why either one or more subsequent news report indicated as returned to the "bedroom".

According to Mohave County Attorney Chief Deputy Jace Zack, the state has 60 days from Rector's arraignment to decide whether to seek the death penalty if Rector is convicted of first-degree murder.

He said in a statement the decision cannot be made until lab reports and all other evidence is in the hands of prosecutors.

In any event, Rector faces a maximum sentence of natural life if convicted of first-degree murder if the death penalty is not on the table.

Was mom's cousin one of the adults that went to Walmart with Tania & Ralphy? That's how I'm taking this news interview. I'm starting to wonder if there was actually school that next day or if the kids had off considering Labor Day just passed. Our kids here where I live didn't go to school until Sept 4th, so that may be a reason the kids were still up instead of in bed on a school night. Maybe?

Here's the video with Tania's cousin being interviewed: (Go to 1:05)

http://www.mynews3.com/content/video/default.aspx?videoId=5330534&navCatId=30912

Here's a quick transcript I put together, any errors are mine but I typed exactly how she spoke:

(Quote)
She lost her daughter in like one of the most horrible ways that are possible cuz at 11:04 I had lefted my daughter, the kids were in the fort playing hide and go seek, and not even an hour later I got a call saying that she was missing, and then we never saw her again.
(End Quote)

I thought the cousin said she left with her daughter at 11:04 pm that night, not that she left her daughter there. I could be wrong though.

That's it! Thank you sooo much Seajay! I thought she said lefted and I was so confused! Now it makes sense! Ok, so she left with her daughter at 11:04. Then she says she got a call not even an hour later. So I guess she wasn't one of the people that went to Walmart with Tania and Ralph. That brings us right back to the beginning - who else was there? Who else went to Walmart with them? I assume the cousin wasn't with them then, otherwise why would she be getting a phone call if she was with them?

I'm asking a mod to edit my prior post. Again, many thanks!

The same thing happened in the Jenise Wright case. Other children in the home were removed for a few weeks before they were eventually returned to the parents. SOP or CYA cautious or a combination?

AFAIK, the Wright's other children have not been returned and the next court hearing is scheduled for October.

BBM. . .I'm glad you wrote that.

The truth is, in a modern secular society, we need the outrage. Without getting into an in depth sociological discussion, we still need to be able to assert, as a society, those things we perceive as "bad." We also have the need to reinforce those things we deem as truth within the construct of our society. . .things like personal responsibility, free will, etc.

You're on the same thought train I am. There needs to be outrage over these behaviors but more importantly there need to be consequences for their actions. Severe consequences and a zero tolerance policy when it comes to endangering their kids.

Perhaps resources are stretched to the max in WA state and the powers that be felt there was little to be gained by pursuing a trial re custody issues for the minors involved.

Lots of info in that video....I was watching body language of both the mothers very carefully. GG had his female parent in courtroom (no other supporters from what I could see). Female parent appeared pretty shaky. MOO

Has everyone seen this video? It's a little different than the one out there that one pulled portions from this one. Ralphy speaks. Justin's cousin talks about Justin being a drug addict and told of a prior time when he held a knife in a stand off against police before pleading with them to shoot him. Tania said she's more of a mom than her mother ever was.

:tyou: for posting this J*G!
The last time I read the linked article, only the raw video was posted. This is a must watch JMO.

There is true vitriol in TG's affect as she speaks out about her own mom. However, I have a hard time reconciling that with the lady I see speaking so eloquently about her granddaughters in every media clip. :waitasec:

I continue to wish Bella's siblings healing and strength in the coming days and months. They have seen and experienced more in their young lives than most. Until the adjudication process is completed, their lives are not their own. That instability must be balanced, and I hold onto the hope that everything is being done to assist them.

Their best interests are what matters, along with :justice: for Bella.

I'm following a few other cases here on WS and I've noticed that even though the circumstances of the cases differ there are some behaviors the parents seem to have in common.

In each case, whether by omission of information or outright lies, it was/is nearly impossible to establish an accurate timeline. Stories changed multiple times. None of the parents took any responsibility for exposing their child to harmful elements that contributed to the tragic event. They all vehemently defend themselves as a “good parent.” They talk about their grief but not their murdered child.

But what astonishes me the most is the almost superhuman ability to “move on” with their lives in a matter of days after losing their child. I won't name specific cases (well obviously I'm including this one) but the parents have all either been out on the town, shopping, going to casinos and restaurants or else on social media, posting recipes, sharing funny videos, having lots of “lols.”

Is this what everyone means when they say people grieve differently? Some brave posters here have shared that they grieve differently but their descriptions are about being stoic in public, hiding their feelings, being unable to cry until their loss actually sinks in and so on.

I understand the importance of returning to a normal life, especially when there are remaining children to care for and I understand that FB could be used as recovery therapy. What I don't get is how these people manage to do all that in a matter of a couple of weeks - or even days.

This just in:

Rector smoked meth in 'grandma's room all day. ( RF's mom )

http://www.abc15.com/news/region-no...h-on-day-isabella-grogan-cannella-disappeared
Text:

Rector reportedly told detectives that he smoked methamphetamine throughout the day in an upstairs bedroom the day the girl disappeared.

Isabella, who often went by “Bella,” was reported missing during the early morning hours on Sept. 2. Her body was found on Wednesday in a shallow grave close to her home, officials with the Bullhead City Police Department said.

The Medical Examiner said that the 8-year-old girl was strangled to death .

According to a search warrant conducted on Sept. 4 by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office at the girl’s home, detectives removed a number of computers, tablets and cell phones. They also seized soiled linens, clothing, a piece of a mattress and a bag of garbage.

Rector has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, child abuse and abandonment of a dead body . He is being held without bond in the Mohave County Jail.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Sept. 19. He federal public defender has been assigned to represent him. Rector has been described as a family friend. Authorities said he has a lengthy criminal history.
