If he is the father, he needs to be taken to court to sever his right to the child. This is horrific.
I wonder if he was thinking that killing her was easier than child support?! I really don't get it. He must have not loved that child or her. To kill her mother and leave the child thrown like garbage.

Out of curiosity, what happens if it is found he is the father? Will his rights be severed automatically or will her family have to jump through hoops and be tied to his family, too?

Women are all too often murdered over child support...though generally before the child is born. Murder is one of the leading manners of death in pregnant women...and I would guess most are to avoid paying. Seems to be a not completely unheard of event...jmo
