Found Deceased AZ - Jerold Williams, 5, Jacob Lake, 6 Aug 2015

I wonder if this is a type of "custody" issue. Colorado city is known to have a very large polgymas community. If they regularly camp there, excommunicated family members could possibly be aware if this. Just a thought and my opinion only.

It appears that Jacob Lake campground is not that isolated. It's near the North rim of the Grand Canyon. It even has a Trip Advisor listing. Jerold's group was camping nearby.

They were not camping at Jacob Lake Campground. They are at a remote campsite that is about 12 miles south of Jacob Lake.

At about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jerold Williams was reported missing from a campsite about 12 miles south of Jacobs Lake near Highway 67 off of Forest Service Road 241 in the Kaibab National Forest.

The campsite is in a remote location near a few small ponds at an elevation of about 7,000 feet.

Polygamy? Was the mother/parents LDS?

Well, it would actually be FLDS and no ... I don't know if they are. However, when I saw his picture, where they are from and how many family members were said to be camping -- it was the first thought that popped into my head.

They were camping 12 miles to the south--look at the maps previously posted.

Yep, I know. I didn't say they were at Jacob Lake, but nearby. From some of the descriptions I read it sounded like they were miles from nowhere. Just 12 miles from a campground reviewed poorly because it's near a noisy freeway. :)

It does seem that nearly everyone from Colorado City, is FDLS, and a majority are descended from the same 2 male polygamist leaders.

I had really hoped when I got home after my day out that this little guy would be found. The overnight lows look to be in the 50, that's down right chilly. I thought this kiddo could be found.

There appears to be a large family with that last name in the FLDS population.

Is there a FB page for the search?

eta: I've also only seen the one picture of him. Is that unusual?

I doubt it has to do with custody but I understand why someone might think it has to do with polygamists. The area and the photo of the child might give clues. He is wearing a button up long sleeved shirt in the photo, while camping, which is highly unusual for everyone except FLDS. Lot of them in Arizona. Also, that's a large number of people camping.

But it certainly is all speculation and not helpful for these poor people.

Ugh. Not again! My five-year-old is starting Kindergarten next week. Imagining him lost at any point for any length of time ties knots in my stomach. He's still just a baby-- and he's pretty savvy but only weighs about 38.5 pounds and is just a little dude. I cannot begin to imagine him lost overnight in the wild.

I pray he is found safe and sound ASAP. Maybe he is nearby and fallen/hurt but rescueable?! I hope...

Colorado City is very well known as an FLDS stronghold. I've read and watched a lot of information about these offshoots of the mormon church. He's young so it's unlikely one of the "lost boys" they're notorious for kicking out of the community to ensure that the old folk have plenty of young ladies to take as multiple wives but it, of course, makes me wonder.

I'm chilled to the core. Still no DeOrr, Holmes will live his days comfortably and now another little man vanishes.

Off to hug my babies. One started 2nd grade today-- little guy starts K next week....
