AZ - Jesse Wilson, 10, found deceased, Buckeye, 17 July 2016 *arrest in 2022*

While I'm always glad one of the missing is finally found, this really hurts my heart. We all knew Jesse was gone but it's never easy to have it confirmed.

This was the one case, where I really thought that he was maybe being looked after and sheltered by someone, to keep him safe from his troubled placement home. I really believed that.

i hope they can find cod. so Wilson can be charged.

It does say that they are treating this as a homicide, so I would believe they have some ideas already. IMO

I have no issue with parents who give up their children in order to provide them with a better life. But that wasn't what happened here - DCS took Jesse and his siblings 12 years ago. Privacy laws keep us from hearing the full story but IMO that was enough time for bio mom (and/or bio dad) to do what was required to get the kids back and prevent their parental rights from being terminated. I'd be surprised if the state gives them the kids now.

Bio mom started an online fundraiser for herself on the "YC" site, claiming that her babies were "taken" from her and that she had no idea where they were. She wants money so she can get them back. This is a different fundraiser than the one Jesse's bio grandmother started that was closed last year.

Bio grandmother contacted msm in August 2016, saying Jesse and his sibs were taken from her daughter because of drugs and instability issues. Grandmother said she tried to get custody of the kids but her "credit" wasn't good enough. She's now a convicted felon so she probably won't get custody of them in the near future.

The bio family claims the state failed Jesse and I won't argue. But they also failed the kids and that's why Jesse and his brother and sister wound up in state care in the first place. And adoptive mom failed the kids. Heck, she didn't even show up for the dependency hearing; instead she sold her house and moved on.

And who pays for all the "failures?" The children! I'm finding it difficult to have sympathy for anyone except Jesse, his twin and his brother.

I sadly saw this coming from a mile away!!!! That's why I said I will remain glad, as long as no one asks for a single cent from anyone. Otherwise, it feels opportunistic. Where was the outrage for a chikd who was being bounced from one abusive situation to another. I have had enough of people like that.

Is there no punishment for the adoptive mom?

JMO but I believe LE is working hard to collect enough evidence to arrest adoptive mom. They've already deemed Jesse's death a homicide and that says it all for me. Any kind of forensic evidence found in the house or car, along with forensic interviews with Jesse's sibs could be enough for probable cause.

Keeping my fingers crossed...

Anything new to report in the investigation? Is there a POI? Sweet Jesse, I'm so very sad no one could help this child.

Buckeye police were preparing no-body homicide case against Jesse Wilson's mom

May 11, 2018:
Buckeye Police Department investigators were “inching” their way toward a no-body homicide case against Jesse Wilson’s mother five weeks after the boy went missing in 2016, according to a department email.

Police and the FBI began drafting a “to-do” list in the weeks after Crystal Wilson reported her 10-year-old son missing from their Buckeye home.

At the same time, Mark Mann, then-assistant police chief, said he was planning to use “contacts and influence” with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office to “ensure we have the best prosecutor for the case" against Crystal Wilson, email records show.
...
Chief Larry Hall confirmed the goal had been to build a case against the boy's adoptive mother weeks after she reported him missing July 18, 2016 — even without his remains.
...
Police still aren't calling Crystal Wilson a suspect, despite preparing a criminal case against her.
...
Amanda Jacinto, spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, declined to comment about the case since police have not yet made a formal charging submittal.

Screenshots of the emails are at the link. Crystal Wilson now lives in Atlanta.

Investigators hope to make arrest related to Jesse Wilson's death
Sources in the Buckeye Police Department say investigators may be closing in on an arrest in the case of Jesse Wilson's death.

May 10, 2018
12 News has learned Buckeye Police have not formally presented its case to the County Attorney’s Office but has had a series of informal discussions.

A source within the police department tells 12 News that investigators are waiting for the final report from the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office before presenting the case to the County Attorney’s Office.

Police have yet to identify a suspect in the case, but speculation has centered on Jesse’s adoptive mother Crystal Wilson.

*sigh* I hope the evidence they were gathering for a no body murder case was solid, otherwise...

Oh Jesse
That may still happen - I hope! I wrote a long post on the two allergy drugs found from Jesse's toxicology report but decided to delete it since I'm not a pharmacist and the second one got complicated. The names are:
hydroxyzine
norchlorcyclizine

Hydroxyzine is a prescription drug used for alleries but also sedation, anxiety and more. Brand names include Vistaril and Atarax. After Googling the drug it seemed like overkill for simple allergies.

The norchlorcyclizine got complicated because it appears to be a metabolite of hydroxyzine. But if you look up the word without the "nor" in front of it then it's an over the counter allergy med.

Since I was confused over which it was I deleted my post. However, since yesterday the article was updated and I see a quote from a doctor questioning the drugs too.

Rebecca Hsu, a forensic pathologist, tells 12 News the toxicology report in the autopsy caught her eye. The report indicates he had two antihistamines in his system: hydroxyzine and norchlorcyclizine.

"It might just be that the person had some allergies. But antihistamines sometimes, especially in children, can actually be used for a sedative," explained Hsu. "Neither one of them, as far as I know, is commonly prescribed for a child."
Medical examiner: Jesse Wilson's cause of death 'undetermined'
There's been no mention in msm about suspicions of a drug overdose so I don't think it caused Jesse's death but I have to question why Crystal was giving him a very potent medication. Was she trying to keep him sedated?

  • #737
Maybe that's the answer. Crystal was medicating Jessie at night so he would sleep and something went wrong?

I can’t find an update that indicates that the mom was charged.

She hasn't been. The weird thing is that LE was planning on bringing charges per the links in my post #729 upthread. It would have been a no-body case.

Things stalled out when Jesse's body was found and the COD came back (no surprise) as undetermined.

JMO but I believe LE is still working on the case and it may take time but eventually we'll see the adoptive mom charged.

If they cannot do a murder charge they absolutely need to charge her with negligence resulting in death or something. They just cannot let her off the hook on this...imo.
