I will be hoping and praying for Divine Guidance for the searchers as they make their way through that mountain of trash in the landfill. Since they will be at risk, a quick and successful resolution would be the best case scenario for all involved. I really am hoping that those brave and dedicated officers aren't out there digging in the trash for weeks and weeks. I hope they find Jhessye quickly, and can get themselves out of there and reduce their exposure to the landfill bio-hazards.

I hope Jerice is miserable.....waiting.....because she knows what jail is like.

And Arizona prisons are much, much worse than what she experienced! I really want her to suffer. I'm sorry, but her evil and her arrogance are just too much.

I am new to Websleuths and this is my first official post! I wanted it to be on little Jhessye's page because I live in Phoenix and this case has really touched me. I am so relieved that they decided to search the landfill for her. The idea of never finding her tiny little body and giving her the proper burial she deserves saddens me...but I have this feeling that Glendale PD would not subject searchers to the conditions of the landfill unless they had very good reason to believe that is where she is. This gives me a lot of hope that she will be found...and I cannot wait for justice to be served to those who deserve it once this happens!

Thank you!!! I've been reading this thread forever, so it is about time I joined in! :)

My question to her, how do you think Jhessye got there?

The "closure" won't happen with finding Jhessye. That will just be the beginning of the process...and it will include some things she may not like.....like Jerice being convicted of murder.

Closure will come when Jhessye gets justice.

Sorry to but in here... I remember they mentioned Tempe after the sibling confided in the foster parent... I had assumed that one of the siblings may have been with her when she did what she did in Tempe. Seems like she thought the other kids would cover for her actions... JMO of course.

That's actually a pretty good theory.

I started to wonder this, too, StrayKat. If Jerice had Jhessye's body in a suitcase or bag, though, Jhessye's sibling may not have realized at the time that Jhessye was inside. That info may have come out after the sibling began talking about Jerice's abuse of Jhessye at home and she was encouraged to remember anything suspicious in the days following.

Knox, it was 12/21/11 that GPD announced publically that they though Jhessye is in the Butterfield Landfill.
They got the info through Silent Witness (remember the Silent Witness reward $).
First article I have about it:

The GPS info came out (that I know of) 12/15/11.

As far as Jerice's father, I have to guess he lives in the Phoenix area. That is where Jerice was born. In her court papers from her 2006 jail time, it said he was a baggage handler at an airport. Dunno what the scoop is now.

Jerice's father a baggage handler? (gulp) That seems either very coincidental or very convenient for Jerice.

I hadn't been on this thread for a while because I didn't think there was any new information and wouldn't be until the landfill search. I've been trying to patiently await that day. There have been plenty of other threads keeping me busy, but I always think of Jhessye. Whenever I hear of something happening on Feb. 6, I think "that's the day they search for Jhessye." That date is ingrained in my mind.

So glad this case is progressing. And so good to hear that LE are confident about bringing charges whether or not any evidence is found in the landfill. Sounds like they have a solid case. I hope that justice is coming soon, not only for precious Jhessye, but also for her precious siblings who have endured and witnessed so much horror in their young lives.

I was in Phoenix for business this week and I thought of little Jhessye. Where are you little butterfly? I am so sad that they haven't yet been able to throw the book at Jerice! That monster needs to pay!

If Jerice did remove Jhessye from the apartment like that...and if one of the other children did go to Tempe with her....I can only hope that the child had no idea that Jhessye's body was being disposed of in that manner. That's almost too horrible to think about.

Jhessye's siblings must be traumatized beyond comprehension after living with Jerice in that apartment full of suffering.

My thoughts will be with the men and women who will begin searching for Jhessye on Monday. :praying:

I have scheduled a vacation day mondy. I know it makes zero sense but I feel a need to be here when the search begins. I know the likelihood of jhessye being located during day one are slim to none, and yet, here I will be.

I wish I could do the same. I will be with you in spirit. And I will be saying little prayers all day.

I am trying not to let my hopes get too high. The odds of Jhessye being found among the mountains of trash are not very good. The fact that GPD is making the effort shows how much they want justice for that sweet little girl.

And I am still putting my faith in GPD, and the heroic men and women who are involved in the landfill search. I am confident that GPD has used sound investigative judgement on when and where to search. If it's possible to find our little Jhessye...then I believe they will find her.

I feel so bad for Tycora. These will be very difficult days for her.

It has been a heartbreaking journey for those of us who have followed Jhessye's case to this point. I don't presume to speak for everyone.....but the charm of her sweet little face, and the chilling details surrounding her disappearance, coupled with the arrogance of Jerice and Shirley certainly made this a compelling case for some of us WS posters.

Finding Jhessye would mean so much to those that love her,to GPD ,to us here at WS, and others who care about this child and this case. Best of all.... it would be another nail in the coffin for Jerice.

:please:
