Don't quote me, but I assume not. I work for as a city employee and if it isn't a regular scheduled employee, then most local goverments are against overtime with the budget.

Gosh, it seemed they were so close yesterday...I hope they are not working on bad or false information...although I guess this had to be done, in any event.

I don't think it would be in the best interest of the search if they didn't break for the weekends, on top of budgetary concerns.

This is one awful task, physically and emotionally wearing. A well rested and mentally alert team is the team that is going to bring this baby home so she can be laid to rest with love.

You're exactly right.

I just can't imagine being involved in something like this landfill search. I know these are strong, dedicated people on a mission to find Jhessye, but everyone has a limit. They also have families and friends of their own. They need to get away from the sadness of what happened to Jhessye, and spend some time with their loved ones.

I sincerely hope they are taking a break over the weekend. God Bless these searchers.

A new week....with renewed hope that Jhessye will be found.

Authorities did not recover anything significant on the sixth day of the landfill search for Jhessye Shockley's remains, a Glendale police spokeswoman said.

A second group of officers began sifting through trash at the Butterfield Station Landfill on Monday, replacing the team that worked last week, Officer Tracey Breeden said.

The two teams will switch off each week for the remainder of the search to ensure officers get proper rest and can continue to work on other cases.
