But she didn't walk home.

That's understood, however we don't know her intentions. The fact that she bought the items doesn't offer a conclusive clue.

I was raised JW & left (escaped is more like it) the same age Lianna is now. My thoughts immediately went to all the reasons *I* wanted to run away (and tried several times unsuccessfully) that were directly related to that particular religious aspect of my life but I wasn't sure if it could be discussed.

I think it could be very relevant and I'm interested in hearing your reasons. This site is all about exploring possibilities and discussing theories... So describing your experiences as someone from a similar background could be very helpful (and certainly a lot better than discussing the possibility of suicide). It does not violate any TOS that I'm aware of.

Right. Her walk was interrupted, and she did not make it home that day.

It's very likely that if she did plan to runaway that she would have at least taken her ID with her. Or money. She did not take anything, and that is alarming. No backpack, nothing. As a very intelligent (and meek) 18 year old she would have planned a little better for running away. Not to mention, she is 18 so she really didn't need to run anywhere.

As far as her leaving because she did not want to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses any longer; remember that she lived with a Foster Family. She turned 18, and was released from the State system. She also had a child services type advocate if she was a foster child (who I doubt also happened to be one of JW's) who was willing to help her, if that was her desire. Not to mention the friends and family from living most of her life with her natural born family. So she would not have needed to runaway.

She left her ID, iPad, ATM card at home. Why not leave the cell phone with those things too, instead of taking it only to destroy it?

Does she have older siblings? Family in the area? It is also not likely that family would not have been contacted by now. They would not need to hide her because again, she is of legal age.

Lianna just got a job, and could have easily saved and made a plan to move out if she did not choose to observe the same religion as her foster family.

The only logical conclusion is that she was abducted. Unless her parents are incarcerated, they are the first people I would look at, and move outward from there.

There has to be a reason why she didn't at least text her Foster Mom to let her know she did not need to be picked up?

There are so many questions. It's like she just vanished!

I completely agree - at first I thought maybe it was her intending to harm herself, but the more information I read I think she was abducted.

Maybe she was walking home, there is a small wall that runs behind Walmart. She would have had to walk past Kohls or the gas station to get home.(or climb over the wall - as a new employee she may not feel comfortable doing that). Just because it seems illogical to go that way doesn't mean she didn't.

I wondered if the person who took her sent that text to her birth mom to make it appear she was still on her phone.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the text.

I would have gone around a wall, and not over. She was more of a timid girl from what I have learned from the friends that have known her for years. She was quiet, but very intelligent. She also chose her own religion voluntarily so that, and self-harm can probably be eliminated. There's no history of running away and no previous displays of any behavior showing she wanted to run. The foster family she lived with was close with her prior to becoming her "foster family". She was happy to be there.

Her Sister dropped her off at work.

I wonder if she tried to call anyone to be picked up when she wasn't feeling well?

how long a walk would it be from walmart to her home, going around the wall? if the statement about not feeling well was genuine, it seems a little odd to me to walk home unless it's a pretty quick walk..

I think the family would have included that in the information they've given.
But that makes sense to me too. If she knew no one was at home and she'd have to wait for a ride, why not walk. According to the mom it was 15-20 minutes.

It's possible she got the beanie and sweatshirt to take a walk since the forest is all around.

Are there any old wells or mining areas around there? I am not familiar with Prescott Valley.

If she got lost, maybe she was frustrated that her cell died and threw it or smashed it. It's plausible. How long can a person survive out there?

hoping this young woman comes home soon.

Why does she have two last natravelingmes? And sounds like she said she was leaving early because she was sick.

http://www.crimeonline.com/2017/05/...-last-seen-saturday-believed-to-be-in-danger/

And this is odd... but perhaps just trollish. Why would someone make that up?

http://www.missingpersonsofamerica....-teen-is-considered-endangered-by-the-police/

She used her foster family's last name - Gibson. Her birth fathers last name is Lefler.

And that last link was proved false. They questioned the woman even though Lianna had only worked at Wal-Mart for a week, they wanted to make sure it couldn't have been her. And it wasn't, it was a girl who looked similar.

I find it odd that she would use a sick day so soon after starting a new job. Also, I find it odd that she arrived for her 1 PM shift and left a half hour later. Wouldn't she call out sick before going through the hassle of being dropped off? If she felt sick just when she arrived, why not wait a little while longer to wait it out.... take avil, etc. to see if it passes.

But no, she arrives, essentially leaves immediately by 1:30 PM, buys dark clothing, texts mom at 5:30 (bio mom?), doesn't mention she's sick to anyone else in her foster home since they came to pick her up from her shift at 10 PM.

I understand running away may not be in her character but those actions leading up to her disappearance seem very odd to me.

She texts bio mom, but not foster mom is also weird to me. Could she be hanging with a gamer friend, potentially seeking attention from her bio parents?

I agree, unusual behavior. I think the problem is no part of it is so completely far fetched that you can't explain it away. To me its all about that text. Could she have been abducted and her kidnapped used her phone so it seemed as if were her?

  • #77
Why would a kidnapper risk leaving a digital footprint aka location data loaded to the icloud etc.. to send a text?

But then again I don't know how kidnappers think.... could be.

  • #78
I think the most telling signs here is that she is listed as in danger and that her phone was reportedly "destroyed" instead of using the words "turned off" or "going straight to VM".

The newest update on the search page is that the police gave them information: Lianna may now be wearing a black t-shirt and a fisherman's cap.
