Gilbert Drive-by Shooting

The 911 call is chilling.

Operator: 911. Where is your emergency?

Brandon Boudreaux: Uh, someone just shot my window...

On Oct. 2, 2019, Brandon Boudreaux called for help after someone shot at his car while he was driving into his Gilbert neighborhood. He told the operator he saw the person drive off and later told investigators he thought he knew who was behind the attempt on his life.

While I believe that LVD was involved in the conspiracy to shoot BB, I’m not sure I’ve seen evidence of this - texts or interviews or testimony, etc that link her to it - other than the fact that AC was driving CV’s/Tylee’s jeep. i think I see more that points to MBP as a co-conspirator than LVD. So, I have 2 questions…

1) What makes you think LVD was involved in this conspiracy? Please post links if you have testimony or interviews or other evidence but if it’s just your opinion I’d like to hear that too.

2) LVD was indicted on this in Feb 2022 but we are just learning about it because Maricopa county unsealed the indictment recently. What are the chances that MBP has also been indicted by a grand jury and we just don’t know about it yet?

One of the questions that was being addressed in the LVD trial thread that pertains to this case is whether MBP was driving the getaway car for AC when he shot at BB. I had wondered about it myself for a couple reasons.

1. It was pointed out that BB kept saying “they” when he referred to the occupants of the Jeep.
2. BB said he thought there had to be a driver because it happened too fast - presumably referring to how soon after the shot, the Jeep drove away.

But it didn’t really seem likely to me that she would be in the car with her toddler or that AC would have had time to pick her up after BB dropped off the toddler and be back at BB’s and observed by neighbor around 8:40am. So i did a little more digging into the Gilbert PD reports and am now convinced that MBP was not the driver nor even in the vehicle that day.

I think that BB initially said “they” when referring to the occupant in the Jeep more in the sense of not knowing whether it was a male or female so he didn’t say he or she. I’ve used “they” myself when trying to relay info about someone when I KNOW it’s only one person but don’t know whether it was a man or a woman.

I think he thought it happened faster than it did when he said it had to be more than one person because it happened too fast. The shooting itself did happen fast and so did BB driving away. But I’m not sure that he realized that he drove a few blocks before he pulled over by the park and observed the Jeep behind him that turned right a block and a half or two blocks before he stopped at the park. I think in the time that he drove that extra block & a half and got parked that AC had time to move to the driver’s seat and drive away himself and be observed turning right by BB.

Additionally, the phone records show that AC was in a church parking lot about 2 miles from BB’s house and at 7:19am and drove directly to BB’s house from that parking lot. So he didn’t have time to go get MBP after BB dropped the toddler off at her house after taking the older ones to school and daycare. AC got to BB’s shortly after BB left and did not leave until after the shooting.

Also, one of the neighbors who saw the Jeep parked and idling said that he was very close to the vehicle and could see that the driver’s seat was pushed forward all the way into the steering wheel. He couldn’t see in the rest of the vehicle so he didn’t observe any occupants but could only say for sure that no one was in the driver’s seat.

So I am convinced that MBP was NOT the driver or even there when AC shot at BB.

However, I still think she was involved as there doesn’t seem to be any way that AC would know where Brandon lived unless MBP gave the address to him or LVD. Nor do I see any way that AC would have known BB had left his house unless she told him. And it appears he knew exactly when BB left. By the way, in case you didn’t know this…BB’s son had a phone with GPS and MBP had access to the data so she knew when he left the house.

Good sleuthing! I wonder how AC would have shifted into the driver’s seat so he could drive away if, as the neighbor observed, the seat was pushed up to the steering wheel. That would take time to readjust. Your thoughts?

I did think about that and while I certainly can’t be sure I think it’s possible AC re-adjusted the seat before BB pulled up which was about 1/2 hour after the neighbor noticed the vehicle with the seat pushed into the steering wheel. AC had been in the Jeep longer than anticipated as he would have no way of knowing that BB would be meeting friends at the gym for an hour after dropping off the kids - MBP only knew BB’s movements when their son with the phone was with him. He got to BB’s shortly after BB left because he thought BB would take the kids to school and drop off the toddler with MBP and then return to the house. I’m sure he needed to move about inside the Jeep during that time - which was almost 2 hours - that’s a lot to be cramped up in the back of a jeep without moving about a bit - may have even stepped outside the vehicle at some point though no one observed him outside the vehicle. He spent most of the extra time texting with CD and LVD & on the phone with LVD but I’m guessing his legs were getting pretty cramped up and he could have moved the seat so he could sit in a normal position for a bit and still remain inside the vehicle.

But even if he didn’t - he had to have a way to get the seat back from inside the vehicle - usually you do that from the driver’s seat with a lever or button depending on the model - but with the seat pushed forward it had to be done from the back so I suspect it wasn’t locked into position anyway - maybe just pushed forward in a way that simply grabbing it and pulling it back would put it back far enough to slide in and drive away. He had to have it rigged in some way other than normal operation or the only way he could have moved it would have been to exit the vehicle out the back where he’d just shot from and open the driver’s side door and move the seat and get in and I do not think that happened.

Thanks for this analysis. Very helpful. I believe the good news will be that LE should have all of ACs digital data. With that extra time, communication with LV and CD will be so enlightening.

But the real joy will be any digital communication with Melaniece. IMO, she almost got away with murder.

Have you seen the documents from the Gilbert & Chandler doc dumps? They do indicate texts to CD & LVD & I think a 23 min call to LVD while he was sitting in the Jeep but I haven’t seen anything about communication with MBP that day or the night before. I haven’t finished going through them yet but I suspect MBP’s contact was with LVD who relayed the info to AC. He had 2 phones with him - text with CD on the burner phone and I guess his regular one to text & call LVD.

Lori and Chad were seen on video putting the jeep backseat in the storage unit. This would facilitate Alex sitting in the back and aiming the gun at Brandon.

I agree, lonetraveler, and the fact that he was even driving Tylee’s Jeep points to LVD’s involvement. But…is that enough to convict her in the conspiracy to commit murder? Sure hoping there’s more - haven’t seen the context of the texts yet - just the report that they exist - hoping there’s more in there to demonstrate her involvement even if they cannot prove she orchestrated it.

A logical assumption would be that LVD was also communicating with Melaniece, when AC didn't know why BB hadn't shown up. In this circle of friends, 23 minutes is a looong conversation. moo

Why is this referred to as a drive-by shooting? Isn’t that when the shooter fires from a moving vehicle? AC wasn’t driving by….he was lying in wait for his victim to arrive. So why do news agencies still refer to this as a drive-by shooting?
