Seeing that the saving grace for Colby throughout this unspeakable family tragedy was having Ray is heartwarming and that it formed a unique and close friendship for both men.
Both men are to be commended for their strength and courage.

I still often think back to when I first heard about JJ and Tylee missing and saw Kay's interview where she said Lori thought she was a Goddess and that her whole family followed her around like they believed she was one.

I thought to myself, that is crazy, I have to see what is up with this. And here I am, at the 3rd trial with the Goddess acting as her own attorney! It's been wild!

Exactly. Plus, the fact that they kept letting Lori preach her wild beliefs without challenging her is what helped progress her to a serial killer. Charles tried. He tried so hard, but no one other than Adam would help him.
Megan Conner, Lori's cousin, said Lori's mom said something like Lori isn't hurting anyone, so they just let it go.
It was like the family was afraid of not going along with Lori because she would cut them off.
I don't get it. I hope a professional who understands cults, families, and religious delusions does an in-depth investigation into this family and writes about it. We need to learn from them so we can keep an eye out to make sure if others start behaving like Lori, people will understand you can't just let them preach like she did. Something needs to be done. However, the person who has the delusions does not need to accept help unless they are hurting themselves or someone else. It is so hard to know what to do.
When Lori and Chad preached that bodies that formerly held the dark spirits, or zombies, needed to die that is when CPS should have been called or something should have been done. She accused Tylee of being a Zombie. This makes my head hurt trying to think about it and figure out what can be done.

IMO:
If LVD was pressed on does she actually believe she's an "elevated being" and on a divine mission from God I could see her defending her beliefs about herself and using Jesus as an analogy.
According to the Bible Jesus's family and friends at times thought he was insane and delusional.

Just FYI, the BIble never says the family of Jesus thought he was delusional or insane. The original KJV in fact says his mom and Joseph knew who He was and two of His brothers were two of His disciples. Lazarus, Matha and Mary were His three closest friends and they knew who He was. The Bible plainly states we was conceived of the Holy Ghost, the son of God.
Lori is a disciple of Satan. She couldn’t get any lower.
