In one of the links, it says she followed him, but then lost him. So, clearly he wasn't standing around waiting for LE to show up.
Has there been any updates on this? I'm not a good searcher and was hoping this was a mistake although I'm with others, why would he run when seen, if there was any acceptable reason. Any info would be appreciated. TIA
Well gee it sounds to me like he took the child and went home.
If that was the case how did they find him? How did LE know where he lived?
The woman stated he was unfamiliar to her so she didn't know him.
Here is a link from the Scottsdale police dept. And at the bottom is the audio of the 911 call. I think it's probably just a partial recording.
Unfortunately, there is no information as to the childs welfare, but it does state that she was his daughter.

Ive tried to type out the call for you, sorry, its not perfect.
911: 911, what is your emergency?
Caller: Uhm, I just saw an elderly man in my neighborhood that Im not familiar with, uhm, sexually molesting a little Asian girl.
911: What exactly did you see?
Caller: Uhm, he had her up in a tree and her underwear and pants were off and it seemed he was basically, uhm, ah, masturbating her and uh, it was very shocking, (inaudible) tried to follow, he clearly saw me, uhm, and I dont think he was sure whether or not I saw what he was doing I guess (inaudible)
911: Okay.
Caller: And I tried to see if I could figure out to stay behind him for a little bit to see what he was gonna walk to, to his house, to see where he lived, (inaudible) you guys right there, and he managed to find somewhere, I was getting a little behind him and he turned a corner and I didnt see where he went.
911: Okay, which... Is it a trailer in front of this address?
Caller: Uhm, its just down the block from this address.
911: Which direction?
Caller: Im sorry?
911: Which direction from this address?
Caller: Uhm, it is just to the, uh, North on the, its the next street up.
911: (Inaudible) Via Escuela.
Caller: Uh, yes (inaudible) thats correct.
End of recording.
I thought he couldn't lift his arms up? How could he be molesting her with his hands?
It has never been reported that this man has Guillain-Barre. That is an internet rumor as far as I know - someone left a comment to a news article. I don't put too much stock in the comments section, I mean, anybody can try to insert themselves into a case just to have people think they're important. Here at Websleuths there is a policy so that people can't mislead others by just saying, "Oh, I know that guy, he's my neighbor, blah, blah, blah.." Tricia wants proof. (It's a good rule too)
I don't think the guy would be in lock up just on somebody's word. Surely they must have interviewed the child prior to arresting him?

PS Why did the dispacher already seem to know his location, ie the comment regarding a trailer in front of the house? I think they received another call on this matter...JMO.
That is very unconvincing. It's not a direct quote from the 911 call.
This article has a link to the 911 call. Granted it's only partial but she does not say he had run away. And clearly he did not leave the child behind.

Well if you actually listened to the 911 call, I personally don't hear anything about a "trailer"in front of his address. I think the dispatcher says either tree or street, not a trailer.
The link provided by the poster that transcribed it has the 911 call.

I am positive the dispatcher does not say "trailer" but rather "tree" or maybe "street."
