Medical examiner updates manner of death in missing yoga teacher Marcus Freiberger case

There has been a significant development in the case of 45-year-old Marcus Freiberger, a yoga teacher from Phoenix who went missing in February and was later found dead.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office has updated his manner of death to "undetermined," fueling questions that have surrounded his passing since his body was discovered in March.

While this is an official ruling, it's possible the manner of death could change as more information becomes available.

Phoenix Police told 12News, "Detectives will be reviewing this case to see if any information from the medical report plays a role in the investigation [...] and they'll be investigating the case until there's no further information available."

In a May 21 interview with The Arizona Republic, Freiberger's stepfather, Dutch Freiberger, shared case details he feared may point to someone's involvement in his stepson's death in March.

Marcus' manner of death — how someone died, such as potentially an accident, homicide or suicide — was classified by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office as "undetermined." A cause of death — what led to loss of life — has not been given.
