Phoenix Police Department

The power of social media helped bring closure to a family and provide an identity for an unidentified young woman. The woman was found deceased in July 2020 in the area of 14th Street and Watkins. Steps were taken to identify her but unfortunately these attempts were unsuccessful. In April 2021, the sketch was recognized by family who had recently reported her missing to Gila County Sheriff's Office. Thank you to our partners in the media and community who are committed to helping us bring closure to cases like this.

Rest in peace. My thoughts go out to her loved ones.

Glad the family has closure. An awful way to find a loved one. Perhaps the thread title should be changed to identified.

Rest in eternal peace, lady. I'm happy that your loved ones found you. Sincere condolences. Thanks to LE who in this case, did their job very accurate, getting the information out that quick. IMO. Also I applaud the artist who really made a great sketch.

I just want to say that you can easily access her identity if you do some easy research. I'm not sure if the family wants it out there so I won't say anything. I think it would be okay to share her cause of death, which is also accessible on this same source. It was a tragic accident with fentanyl.

You are cryptic as always.....did she get there by her own succumbed on fentanyl there and then or dumped there after an OD?

Not entirely sure...it just lists her cause of death.

I have my own theory but I don't feel comfortable sharing it unlike others I share.

I'm so sad for her family, but so glad she's been identified!

Huge props to the sketch artist. If I had seen her family's post in my search, I would have recognized her and her tattoo immediately as this Doe. This is a good reminder for us to search through missing posts in Facebook community groups. Sometimes families don't report officially, but they do make attempts to locate through social media. It's a resource we should keep in mind.

Yes. She has been identified. I would like to know how you found cause of death?

I hope that you and your family find the resolution and peace you are looking for. I am so sorry that this happened to your daughter.

Her death investagation is still open.. nothing makes sense in how she died. Why did they not put a photo of her up after she was found?

Morgue images? I’ve been following cases from Maricopa for a while now and they no longer add them because they have a really good sketch artist.
