Did reporter say the Sheriff's Dept. would be holding a press conference tomorrow morning?

  • #282
That they were going to Mesa, not Chandler.

Mesa, I am afraid to say that town because it (the Town) correlates to you know what! ;)

So, what did we learn?

Geoff appears forthright and innocent. They cannot confirm what time they were last seen so they could have left in the middle of the night. Nothing makes sense and at this point it sounds as though they vanished. frustrating!!!

I thought they said Friday morning.

We learned to first take a quick moment to say THANK YOU Treelights for transcribing important points or well, points made. For some reason I felt bad for the brother in law. I'm still playing catch up on reading so ..... that may explain that.

Also, can I just quickly ask, has the idea of a murder/suicide scenario been tossed around yet?

Yes, at 7am, which is 13:00 UK time so if I can (from work) I will try to tune in.

I was multi-tasking. Sorry!
I wonder if this video will be shown again?

Sorry but I don't have a clue to what it correlates to..........

And if something happened to them Sunday night, it would have been after 10:30 when GD went to bed and they were ?in the kitchen?
Then how did the car get where it was? Has anyone asked the Bar and Grill did they come in that night? If they went out Sunday night, and 'disappearedeededd" then who brought the car back and left it, right around the corner?
More questions!!!

Obviously this doesn't sound great for Mike. If it was known on Frs Day that Tina was delivering an item the following morning and it was assumed Mike was with her, then Mike must have offered to drive her in front of everyone. But her important items were still in her bedroom (not in a kitchen or somewhere closer to exiting the house). And now TC's family's PI is clearly making negative implications about Mike.

Sorry I tuned in late. Who was that man in the blue shirt. He seemed quite forthcoming. Also who was he talking about that he didn't like what they were saying? TIA

  • #292
He doesn't know who saw them last on Sunday night.
How??? It would be the first thing my family would have nailed down. All they have to do us ask each other? Maybe lots of drinking on Fathers day so memories are cloudy?

Narrative - will keep editing with updates:

Nothing prepared, taking questions:
1) how is family after "foul play" suggestion? A. We knew this since day 1, now case is being elevated we might get more answers. Famliy rollercoaster of emotions. Hope disappointment. Keeping busy to do what they can to help sheriff.
2) Now it's a criminal investigation does that diminish hopes of finding alive? A. We knew there was foul play from the get-go, no reason they wouldn't contact us. Not the kind of people to disappear.
3) Family frustrated with police effort? Yes, they wont give us much information, share more with us, but realise it's the nature of the situation
4) Hope they found something in the car. House hasn't been thoroughly searched although officers have been in their room.
5) Nothing makes sense, wasn't happy to say what he thinks, they all come up with scenarios in the evenings
6) Proximity of house to drug route - is that part of your thinking? Yes, it's a possibility, not fun to think about, lot of traffic through valley, lot of bad people around here. Nothing T&M would do to bring them into contact with these people.
7) 2 sides of family - is that a problem in the house? No in constant contact with Tina's siblings.
8) Been advised not to increase reward significantly in case situation is a kidnapping or ransom - would delay their return. By "some private investigators". No reason to believe it is or isn't a kidnapping.
9) Tina did some work for Tom across the street, she was running an errand for him that morning (Monday) to Mesa
10) Tina's purse is in the room. The item she was supposed to deliver for Tom in Mesa was still in her purse (!!!) We don't think she left the house.

11) Mike on long-term disability, airline pilot
12) Sunday night activity: All gathered for Father's Day, nothing suspicious, people present were well-known to the family
13) Tina came into inheritance, not that much, were going to use it on downpayment on mobile home on lot next door
14) 2 families live on the lot, referred to it as a "compound", plus grandmother
15) Who was last to see T&M Sunday night? A: One of the family, probably in the kitchen, he'd gone to bed at 22:30, doesn't know who saw them last
16) PI hired by Tina's brother - he's made some "disparaging suppositions about might what might have happened" and we don't like the light he is trying to cast
17) Search will continue, have covered vast amounts of desert, still have things to checkout & re-check
18) Not going into the valley as it's a "dangerous area" - border patrol & county sheriff searching there
19) Maybe they were in "the wrong place at the wrong time"
20) Have been approached by PI's but have not hired any
21) Lived in same house with them for 2 years, don't think drugs have anything to do with it
22) Sheriff press conference at 7am tomorrow
23) Bottom line - lets get answers, get them home
24) Misper to Criminal Investigation shift - not a surprise but an excitement - hope it expidites the case
25) No-one living in the area that makes him fearful from saying anything beneficial to the investigation
26) On Father's Day - friend José from Venezuela was interested in Mike's skills as a pilot
27) Is everyone being truthful & co-operative? A: everyone in this house is, don't know who else they have interviewed

I may have missed a question at the end - apologies if so - but I think I got most of the interview

THANK YOU for this!

Speaking of Mesa, how far is it from the compound (Geoff's word) ? Only about 45 minutes or so away? Or more?

If Tina was to take paperwork to somebody in the morning and her purse and the paperwork was left behind I am kind of thinking Mike and Tina went somewhere Sunday night and never came home. Something happened to them then.

Maybe they went to that bar or just for a ride or a bite to eat...gas or anything.

I think the son meant they 'must' have been missing since 5 because maybe that's when they planned to leave but I bet no 17 year old boy is up at that time seeing them off.

Something happened to them Sunday night. MOO

Just to clarify so as not to confuse, it was never said to be paperwork. It was referred to as an "item" and no one asked what the item was

I was multi-tasking. Sorry!
I wonder if this video will be shown again?

I think GD only described it as an item. So small enough to fit in her purse. I wonder if it wasn't a check. Most any other document could have been faxed or emailed unless it was necessary to deliver original signatures. IMO.

The YouTube link will be viewable again once they are done with their other stories. I'm downloading it just in case it goes away.

No you had it right it was never said to be anything but an "item," which to me translate as something other than paper

Thank you everyone for transcribing. I watched it but some questions were hard to hear. Wonder when Tina's purse was found with things that she was supposed to take? Does that imply she wasn't going to her real job that day?
