Jen's Trial Diaries ‏@TrialDiariesJ 2h
Camera can film today but Judge will take matter up again before trial. If he allows...1 camera and it will be on a delay #Hulsey )

Thanks for all the tweets today.

He needs a stun belt and needs to be watched when he shaves, IMO. No suicide for him!

Defense says jail is trying to control when #Hulsey shaves during trial and that's not acceptable
--

Defense is full of complaints today, huh?

At the detention facility in Joliet, Illinois, where I interned, shaving was indeed "scheduled" - razors were locked up in little numbered slots, like they use at valet parking...and inmates were allowed use of the razors on alternating days, based upon their location (tier one, tier two).
Gotta inventory each razor upon handing to inmate, and taking it back, making sure blades were still intact.
"Shanks" are the reason behind this time-consuming doling out of personal care items.
I find Hulseys complaints about shaving to be ridiculous that's JMO, he's got bigger worries than stubble.

What's a Shanks?

What's a Shanks?

A shank, also called a shiv, is a correctional facility specialty. It's a weapon made out of just about anything, and a razor is one of the most sought after components.
I've heard of pens, toothbrushes (sharpened/filed down) and a slew of other seemingly harmless items being used.

What's a Shanks?

Prison Slang for a weapon fashioned from something else.

Urban Dictionary says- prison slang/A homemade knife.

made out of scrap of metal found anywhere and sharpend like a knife. and bottom tightly wrapped with a cloth as a handle.

You would be amazed what they can make knives out of...

ETA- I have heard of toothbrush handles being sharpened enough to do damage, disposable razor handles, even plastic spoons!

Fingers crossed that trial starts tomorrow without a hitch. And, please, please, please let there be a live stream.

We need a juan-fix!

Thank you to all of you for posting the background to this case. I will be looking forward to Bernina's assessment of this trial! So glad she will be there!

Am I interpreting this correctly? That JM and the defense attorney have an acrimonious professional relationship? OMG the fireworks may be going off in that courtroom left and right if it is so. Look forward to seeing you all here. Thanks again!

I don't know Cherry, that's what I was looking for when I came across the Diva page above. Wonder how long it'll take to pick the jury? Sure wish they were like Fla. and we could watch that.

I just realized you can access Trial Diva pages by using the Google Cache, here's a run down of the hearing on Dec. 20 (2013, I think) probably doesn't give many more details than we read in the minutes but the divas were there for it. Hope the link works:

How clever that you remembered about the Google Cache, geevee. Thanks.

I wonder why JM didn't want Goita Kostis questioned???? She was a witness, even tho' she is a criminal.

So, that means we'll have just tweets tomorrow??

I thought I saw in the tweets the other day they were calling as many as 500 juror's. Said it could take several weeks. I could have saw that wrong though.
