Respectfully snipped by me.

WTH is that???!!

Firearms?? Well he!! yes, they are gonna have them, you nincompoop.

I am not a firearm fan, btw, but in a courtroom with a near-certain killer of a LE individual, YES, there will be weapons, as it always is when court is in session. The very idea. You certainly cuddled up to one a while back, sir. Have you forgotten? The Holly family hasn't forgotten, and they never will.

Grrrrrr. :banghead:

So he will not attend his own trial if law enforcement have fire arms...well he can be forced to watch via video link in a small cell, in his stripes, that he has to wear daily. That is fine with me.

He just wants to make it easier for him to try and escape....but he needs as many shock features on as allowed, chained to the cement floor, or a huge cement block which no human can pick it. This can be done both at the defense table or in the video cell.

Awww shucks. :blushing: :)

By my count they have 'passed for cause' (accepted for now, as far as I understand) 18 jurors through the last minute entry (last Wed.):

Jurors #1, 4, 15, 18, 36, 39, 42, 46, 55, 71, 74, 77, 81, 101, 265, 126, 131, 136. Don't ask me how #265 jumped ahead in the pack. lol There will be preemptory strikes once they get through the whole pool, the only page I could find discussing 'passed for cause' was on Colorado law, and it said in capital cases there each side is allowed 10 strikes.

I hope they made quite a bit of progress on Thursday, we seem to have a ways to go with just three working days this week, I'd be very surprised if the moved-up date of the 29th has opening statements, there's a lot of silliness going on with the defendant (leaving the room for 'distress' reasons?).

Yep, my Nothern She-Wolf pal, seems that both of us were a tad mad. I mean really, the very idea.

And it's fine with me if he absents his alleged-killer-self from the room. No firearms? WTF? They'll put him in a room with a live video of the trial and he'll be guarded by a deputy who will prolly be armed ( ) -- they did the same thing for a few days during the Tate-LaBianca trial in LA-CA.

We'll see what happens...

Me too, he seems fair but he don't take no guff.

Maybe he can step in on the JA case.... Judge Sherry is not inspiring confidence

  • #395
So, trial start will be delayed a bit. They better get crackin so the JA trial can start as scheduled. Mee thinks we will see a glitch or two.

Yeah, Nymeria, it is a worry. Bless her, though -- doncha know she is sick to death of it -- of JA? What a nightmare for the whole crowd.

I've always wondered why AZ does their penalty trial phase the way they do when the verdict is not unanimous -- a lot of cost, inconvenience, etc., when they have to essentially go through the guilt trial all over again.

NC is backward in lotsa ways, but when a jury can't get to a unanimous DP verdict, the penalty automatically defaults to LWOP and it's over. That seems much better to me, but that's JMO.

And there may be a good reason for AZ to do it the way they do. I guess this one could end up the same way, but I'd almost bet it'll be a straight-up DP verdict. The victim was a LE officer, for goodness sake. Grrrrrrr. (I won't get into why JA should have gotten it as well the 1st time around.... Double Grrrrrr.)

Was there no jury selection today? I can't find anything on twitter about it.

Judge Kreamer is the same judge that was handling the retrial of the Temple slaying's while we were watching the Chrisman trial. That trial was declared a mistrial because a camera person showed some of the juror's. It was later retried not too much later, maybe as soon as they could seat another jury.

I believe he is a really good no nonsense Judge. jmo

:floorlaugh: Hulsey thinks Sheriff Joe is going to have his officers unarmed in the courtroom :floorlaugh:

The Judge probably has his own sidearm under his robe!!! :floorlaugh:

WTH does Hulsey think he's going to? The PROM????

 The Court has to play nice and respond "yes" or "no" to all of Hulsey's requests............he's just STALLING. :banghead:
