Not a broken record you are trying to be a squeaky wheel. Nothing wrong with that.I sound like a broken record but until we start charging people in the positions where they have failed these kids, this will just keep happening

I'm struggling with following this case. It is very traumatic. She tried so hard to escape. No one was helping her.

Sometimes it seems like CPS just hires people off the street. It is not an easy job. I have never wanted to do it. Unfortunately, I have not been overly impressed with the CPS workers I have met. Maybe the wrong people go into the position.
It has seemed to me, it wasn't people who wanted to do the job, but rather people who didn't find anything else, and ended up doing it. That may be the problem. Or teachers who hated teaching, and ended up there. Not because they wanted to help families. Or children. JMO.

IMO and I admit I'm really pissed right now, the people who failed her need to be prosecuted. Can someone explain to me HOW IN THE WORLD they system failed her with all the attempts the school did, her running away, etc. Seriously! She was afraid to go home! Why don't they pull a child like her out from the home? I guess parents (and the adults) have more rights than the victims??
Having lived in a on the outskirts of a town, ie a wildcat neighborhood, most people stay to themselves. I met one person while living there. We were there for 4 years. We had our reasons for moving out there and knowing what I know now about that area their reasons were way different then ours.I’m interested in knowing if they went above cps
While unfortunately most states do mandate cps investigations and not legal for family abuse - after a couple of calls with obvious abuse you always go above cps. Every state has a call above them. Local representatives will get involved in cases like this too.
Just seeing this case and ugh
my number one question is why didn’t the neighbors call 911?!?
Needs to be done away with and just start over IMOCPS is fixable but it has to be tore down and restarted.
I sure hope there can be some results from this.Task force launched to review child safety reporting laws after death of 10-year-old known to DCS - KTAR News Task force launched to review child safety reporting laws after death of 10-year-old known to DCS — KTAR News
After following child cases for twenty years, I'm saying this: CPS can't be fixed nor patched up. CPS needs to be dissolved and replaced with a competent organization.CPS is fixable but it has to be tore down and restarted.
I have often wondered if some of them start out gung ho and then just get worn down over time. Maybe trying to do the right thing only to have the courts send the kids back to the parents gets to them after awhile. JMOIt is not an easy job. I have never wanted to do it. The sad thing is that this child had no relative that was stable enough to stand up for her. Her father was able to get custody of her and her brothers because the Mom was using drugs. So, it seems that the father and his girlfriend were abusing the kids. It sounds like the girlfriend was even worse than the father. The mother and grandmother were not reliable and didn't see the kids. There was nobody in the family these kids could rely on.Can someone explain to me HOW IN THE WORLD they system failed her with all the attempts the school did, her running away, etc. Seriously! Frustrating! If a stranger did the same thing to a child, there would be a police investigation and criminal charges. But because a family member commits the assault, CPS investigates. Maybe.
(No disrespect to CPS workers, btw. It's the system I'm frustrated with and realize the workers likely are too.)
jmopinion
I actively working with CPS. I agree like I said, needs to be tore down and rebuilt. There are some things that are good. I’d love to get my hands on it and start fresh though
Yeah there would be no need for CPS to protect children from men if there were not men with twisted perverted or violent thoughts regarding children.
Just saying…
IMO
This is, in my opinion, inaccurate. There would be less sexual violence against children (presumably anyway, woman caused sexual violence is believed to be drastically under reported due to the nurturing approach).
Physical violence and neglect perpetrated by women would still be in existence though.
The children’s bureau child maltreatment of 2023 provides some good statistics collected from the us CPS reports . Unfortunately that report identifies that 51% of perpetrators are females. I reference this report because it’s pretty statistically sound than “reportedly” reports.
That means that, severity aside, we as women are actually harming children more frequently than men are.
