This case was recently taken on for genetic genealogy by Ramapo College, but does not have a thread here.

"Santa Rita Jane Doe 2000 (AZ)

The skeletal remains of Santa Rita Jane Doe were discovered by hunters in the Santa Rita experimental range near Sahuarita, Arizona in 2000. She was believed to have died between 1997-1999 and was likely 50-90 [y]ears of age at the time of her death, placing her year of birth at 1907-1949.
An orange bedspread and duct tape were found near Jane Doe’s remains.
Ramapo College IGG Center will collaborate with the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner to identify Santa Rita Jane Doe."

This case does not appear to be in the Arizona Migrant Death Index (Arizona OpenGIS for Deceased Migrants), so I'm assuming that investigators think this person was from the USA.

Circumstances, like the bedsheet with duct tape, seem suspicious, but I could not find any indication of the cause/manner of death online. The case is only listed with the medical examiner and not any other law enforcement agency. If anybody finds anything else related to this woman, it would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like this newspaper article dated Feb 2nd, 2000 may refer to this unidentified female. Not much more to go on but it does mention that an autopsy was scheduled for 2/3/2000 and a forensic anthropologist may have a reconstruction completed by that time.

Wonder if the recon was ever done.
