GUILTY AZ - Sidney Cranston, 40, Kingman, 16 June 2015 *Arrest*

  • #161
From the link: "From phone records, we can see cell phone pings and we can say this is an area of super high interest to us," said Lyle Sharman. "We know we are on the same page because law enforcement is searching these areas. We think they are slightly off.

"It's an area that is so unusual - somewhere he shouldn't have been."

Why shouldn't he have been there?
What is unusual there in that area!

Yep not related at all to RE.
But that sentence sure has me curious!

Bad part of town maybe!

From the Find Sid Facebook - the family has someone they suspect, the last place he was seen. This person will no longer cooperate with the family or the law.

Davia, can you tell us how they know this? I mean I think we all have come to the conclusion that he is no longer with us but what exactly makes them feel so confident? Is it just the fact that he hasn't been heard from and there has been no activity on his bank accounts and this is out of character? Or do they have something more concrete than that?

They just know based on everything. The family has been very active on FB and on the radio. They have their suspect you will not help the family or the police. We are a small town and police are not doing much of anything. They haven't even given him a lie detector. The find sid facebook has lots of info.

In the days that followed Cranston's disappearance, his ex-wife, Jody Nelson, said she received an unexpected visit from the police.

"They had two pictures of rings that had been sold at a pawn shop the day after Sid disappeared, and they wanted to know if I could identify them," she said. "I was able to identify the one ring as Sid's wedding band. He had changed it over to his right hand after we got divorced, but still wore the ring because he liked it and it was worth money."

Was the information about the white SUV thrown out there to possibly deflect things away from this friend of his ? Isn't that who the info. came from to begin with, the friend ?

If the current suspicions are accurate, what would the motive be ? I know Sid supposedly had a couple thousand bucks on his person, but would that be enough for this friend of his to go to all this trouble and effort ? This appears to have been a pretty well planned out and carried out disappearance, based on the complete lack of clues.

Did they have any history of problems between each other ?

I think in the very beginning a few of us questioned the story about the white SUV. Seems we all picked up on the hinky. What I'm still not clear about is the burglaries of Sidney's property. Down to the fittings and fixtures is so...IDK, purposeful? I'm sure a close look at Craigslist at the time would have turned these items up and I can't believe the police/PI didn't follow that track. So, if they weren't being sold on the downlow, where are these items?

A brand new toilet/bathroom suite, etc. AFAIK even the hot water heater and carpets were taken - am I remembering that correctly?

Did anyone close to Sidney happen to have a house remodel at the time? Sell a house a little later? Have a relative have a house remodel?

This REALLY should be solved and charged ASAP. Really.

Just bookmarking. My poor memory won't let me remember names so I find cases when they become slow.

I really wish they could find Sid. I can't imagine how his family functions knowing that Mr. Cranston is dead and knowing the person responsible is still walking around free.

While the police are not revealing many details, Chris Cranston has hired a private investigator. He said he's learned that phone records indicate his brother's cell phone pinged a tower near the Hualapai Mountains on the afternoon of his disappearance. Arizona's ABC 15 News reports that Blanco's cell phone pinged the same tower that afternoon.

The area of those pings is where Chris and other volunteers have been focusing much of their search efforts.

"We have come to accept he has been murdered and is dead," Chris said. "We're just trying to find his remains. We're flabbergasted, confused and distraught, and don't know what else to do."

That's why his friend is the prime suspect, bolded in red. That mountain range is basically a wilderness area, that's why the family said his phone pinged in an area where he shouldn't have even been.

I agree with that assessment, unless Sid was planning an extended camping or hiking trip in some pretty hostile conditions, which we all know he wasn't. Neither one of those two guys would "normally" be in that area.

As has become pretty standard, the cops won't press charges until a body has been found, regardless of the circumstantial evidence. The family's going to have to keep getting the word out so people going to that area will be aware, while continuing to search themselves. My guess would be that he was dumped somewhere, because digging in that rocky terrain would be pretty tough.

keeping an eye on this latest find, is it Sidney?

http://www.abc15.com/news/region-no...found-in-northwestern-arizona-authorities-say

"Mohave County Sheriff's deputies were notified Monday afternoon about the discovery of a human skull and some bones in the Golden Valley area."

That's in the opposite direction from the Hualapai mountain range, we'll have to wait and see how it shakes out. The area around Golden Valley is also relatively flat and open. His phone still could have pinged from the tower over at the mountain though.

My guess is it would more likely be a hiker , a transient, or an illegal alien.

I steelman sorry just saw this.
Yes the SUV story came straight from the friend. There is no one else whom can confirm his story. The friend was also redoing a home for him, basically flipping the house, however when Sid came to town he found that the house had been robbed, and when I say robbed they took everything, the only thing left was the carpet which had been removed and rolled out into the garage right inside the door as if someone was coming back to get it. This friend has a record which includes theft and robbery. I believe Sid confronted him on this job that robbed in a professional manner. Plus the added benefit of the money Sid had on him. He also pawned in Sid's rings right after he went missing, this has been 100% confirmed. Now to add the phone pings I think we know who is involved. I have zero faith in our police department and they investigate little to nothing. They have found nothing because they have not looked much.

I ran a search this morning........I'm not coming up with any additional information about the remains that were found. Sort of bizarre that everything went so quiet.
