I agree that it is very unusual for it to take this long to confirm an identity. Little Sylar was not there for years. In fact it was not very long at all. The DNA in the bone marrow would still be very fresh for testing. Why not even a confirmation that this is Sylar?

I come to this thread every day to read and find out what is going on. IMO, something very strange is going on and I want to know what it is.

In the video on the link that tfrohning provided, there is a moment where while they are talking about methadone they hold up a typed piece of paper that in my mind is probably the transcribed statement by either CP, or her mother.

On that page you can clearly see the word Klonopin. IIRC, that is one heavy duty anti-anxiety med. I knew someone on that, and it would mess her up so bad she had a hard time taking care of her kids while she took it.

Just wanted to point out I saw that in the video. ETA: tried a screen capture

Wow good catch Kat. I suspect legal and illegal drugs run deep with them and had a lot to do with the children's abuse. I'm so glad her other children are with their father now!

If Sylar got a hold of a klonopin (spelled kolonopin in the typed page) that is probably why he wouldn't wake up that afternoon.

Infants and Children

Klonopin is administered orally. In order to minimize drowsiness, the initial dose for infants and children (Up to 10 years of age or 30 kg of body weight) should be between 0.01 and 0.03 mg/kg/day but not to exceed 0.05 mg/kg/day given in two or three divided doses.

For adults

The initial dose for adults should not exceed 1.5 mg/day divided into three doses.

ETA: http://www.toddlertime.com/med/klonopin.htm

It's use for seizures too. I didn't know that, I just knew a woman on it for nerves.

I agree Texlil, they probably had a IMHO goody bag of legal and illegal drugs. I can imagine that they may not even had prescriptions for those legal drugs too. It's my understanding that it can be addictive therefore can be abused.

If someone is prescribed Methadone in a pill form, in a pill bottle, for pain, they generally take it home with them.

Methadone clinic is for opiate addiction. This is NOT the only use for methadone and I do not believe it is the reason that Tina or Nancy would have been on it legally.

The Klonopin if true and if prescribed legally, only further strengthens my feelings on that. Klonopin is VERY addictive. There are other comparable options that are not nearly as addictive. Only if it was a last resort for seizures, could I see a decent doctor putting a patient with an opiate addiction on Klonopin.

Phenobarbital is still the favorite as far as "sedating" seizure meds.

Klonopin is less commonly used and more of a last resort for seizures, simply because seizure treatment isn't a short term thing and it's so addictive.

The Klonopin could easily be the "tranquilizers" that Sylar overdosed on last year.

Most seizure medications are also used for something other than seizures.

Neurontin is also used for nerve pain, anti depressant as well as seizures.

Topamax is used for headaches, impulse control, seizures and causes a lot of people to lose weight.

Depakote is both a seizure medication and a mood medication.

Trileptal, Tegretol are both used for mood/behavior/psychological issues of some kind.

Many medications have more than one use. We just may not have heard about the second one if we have no reason to know about it.

I can tell you from my own personal experience with Methadone...I was prescribed Methadone for chronic back pain after 2 failed back surgeries. Anyway I myself decided to go off of it because I did not like the way it made me feel. It made me really drowsy and I forgot things easily etc. I can only imagine if a 2 yr old got into it what it would do. I was also prescribed 25mg which was one pill and told to start out with half a pill until I knew how my body would respond if that tells you anything about the power of the drug. Today I am on meds for pain control but nothing like that and I refuse to take that route again. It angers me to no end that Dr's prescribe these meds without thouroughly checking into a persons history. There needs to be a nationwide database that has health history and RX history so that people that are Dr. shopping for drugs can get caught and hopefully put an end to all of these RX drug related deaths. There are those that need it but there are also those that abuse it which is sad.

They do have a database actually for narcotics. I learned this when my back primary care physician gave me a butt ripping to be remembered because I took cough syrup two winters ago (prescribed by my family doctor) without telling him. He made me cry....lol. Now I call him before I take anything prescribed by any other doctor but him. Evidently they do put it on the computer, as that is where he saw about my cough syrup naughty...lol. I don't know if this is only in the state of Colorado however, or if doctors are just to busy/uncaring to check it.

I think it is pharmacies that have that database since they are the one's who actually fill them? I know in certain states you have to sign and show ID to fill prescriptions for certain classes of drugs...but I don't know if that is standardized or for what classes elsewhere.

I work for a pharmacy, all class 2 & class 3 narcotics are kept in state and federal DEA database. Everytime a prescription is filled the pharmacy reports the prescribing doctor & license number, patient, quantity and drug prescribed. This data is transmitted to the appropraite agencies within 7 days of dispensing.

I have to show an id to purchase lighters and compressed air in can in Illinois too!

The prescription monitoring Program.

The PDMP is housed by a specified statewide regulatory, administrative or law enforcement agency. The housing agency distributes data from the database to individuals who are authorized under state law to receive the information for purposes of their profession.

They tried to put me on Methadone for pain before I was correctly diagnosed with MS. I took it once, thought I was going to die and never took it again.

Neurontin is the only thing I can take for nerve pain. Since I'm also on an opiate blocker for my MS, any narcotic pain killers won't work for other pain anyway. I'm okay with that...extra security I will never be a pill popper like my mother. I jumped at the idea of a medication that helped so many things I wanted help with! :twocents:

Neurontin, Tylenol and Naproxen are about it for me. Which is fine with me, but not with my surgeons as they tend to frown upon no painkillers after surgery. :innocent:

I have never understood people who actually enjoy taking painkillers, tranquilizers or Methadone. I totally understand those who NEED them. But those who LIKE the way it makes them feel...(aside from helping their medical condition)...baffle me.

I hate anything which inhibits me at all, narcotics being at the top of the list. I just don't trust people around me when I'm not in complete control.

I take as little medication as possible, including not taking them after surgery. People like Tina and Nancy are just beyond my comprehension...but they remind me of my mother. :twocents:

Bumping for Sylar... hoping the wheels of justice will finally start moving forward, soon.

Waiting for news of justice for Sylar.

They are selling bracelettes, possibly bumper stickers, and attempting to create a non-profit in his honor.

I wonder if Charity is giving any more attention to the other children she has "adopted out", now that she realizes how important they are?

Hi everyone!

I've been listening to Levi Page's episode from the 9th with Dr. Perper, and in regards to the irresponsible prescribing the doctor in the case of Anna Nichole Smith, Dr. Perper feels that the doctor should be dealt with by the medical board. The doctor also mentioned that Anna's family has a civil suit against the doctor.

So I was wondering.... if it is discovered that CP and crew had multiple prescriptions, I wonder if the doctors involved could be held accountable for any irresponsibility on their part. I don't think they could be held responsible for directly hurting Sylar, because it would be CP and her mother that should have been locking up any legally obtained drugs, and those illegally obtained for that matter.

But if any doctors were allowing CP etc. to doctor shop, were prescribing multiple medications and/or more medications for questionable diagnosis I think that they should be held accountable.

IMO I think that the board lets A LOT of doctors here get away with way to much. There was doc out here that two other people and myself knew was an accident waiting to happen. It wasn't related to prescribing narcs, it was a very irresponsible plastic surgeon. We contacted the board... nothing... until two people died.

Kinda OT: As I'm writing this our Tricia is now on the show regarding the Susan Powell! Anyway, they started out by talking about how frustrating it is that the husband has not been arrested... just like we feel with CP not being arrested. :)

I never saw where there was any realization of how important the children are?

However, I highly doubt it. I would imagine they are probably in the Arizona area as well since that is where she lived.

I think of Sylar everyday and I am just frustrated is all, why oh why nothing, nothing being said. I hope to God they are just working diligently on this and its not a case of this baby once again falling between the cracks of our messed up world and justice system....
