FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The custodial mother of an Arizona toddler whose body was found in a wash has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

On Monday, D'Evelyn couldn't say if there is a connection between pending toxicology reports on Sylar and Priem's arrest on drug charges.

"They're still in the review and have not been released. That's part of this ongoing case," he said of the pending results, adding that the results are expected to be released "fairly soon."

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office detectives arrest Christina Priem, 36, on three counts of involving a minor in a drug offense.

Priem was arrested in Flagstaff and is being booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center.

So the arrest seems to involve Sylar . . . Camp Verde is not too far from Wet Beaver Creek

Okay.. if this was for giving Sylar drugs... wouldn't it include child endangerment, or child abuse or something along those lines?

I wonder if this is regarding one of the older kids.... literally "involving" one of THEM in drugs. Transporting them, hiding them, buying them, selling them, giving them to another child.... they could easily testify to what happened...

It just seems like an oddly worded charge to me...

Maybe they got all there stuff together and will let her out on bond and arrest her minutes later for the big charges.

I see that have not arrested her mother yet so I maybe this is a tactic they are using. I really expect both of them to be in jail when the abuse of a corpse and manslaughter/murder charges are laid.

This is the face of one of the people who know exactly what happened to little Sylar and would not talk! I wonder if she (and others) really thought they would get away with it?

Just looking at this makes me so angry.

Mom Arrested for Involving Minors in a Drug Offense

Suspect was Caretaker for Sylar Newton

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - Yavapai County Sheriff’s
Office detectives, assigned to the Criminal Investigations
Bureau, have arrested 36-year-old Christina Priem for 3 counts
of Involving a Minor in a Drug Offense. Preim was arrested in
Flagstaff and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center late
this afternoon.

This arrest results from the ongoing investigation by YCSO into Sylar’s disappearance
and death. Detectives have not released the specific charging details regarding the
counts against Priem.

Further information will be provided when available.

Not sure why, but at this time Collins has still not been arrested - it does appear by looking that LE has been busy investigating these two.

Collins has a total of 15 records and Priem has 12 - Many of CP's are MV related - most of NC's are drug related - in the case of Collins can we say habitual offender?
