Does not say last seen may 15. It says called his family on May 15. Last seen by them 1/1

Has Thomas Clyde O'Daniel (same age & birth year as the missing person), born APR 29, 1929, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, died ABT 1960 Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee, been ruled out? This is the only Thomas Clyde O'Daniel listed at Ancestry.com. The 1950 United States Federal Census for Memphis, TN shows him living with a Mildred L and a one year old son also named Thomas.

Ancestry.com also shows him living with the same Mildred L. O'Daniel in Redondo Beach, CA in 1952, according to the 1952 Redondo Beach City Directory on Ancestry.com. This Thomas Clyde O'Daniel died in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee about 1960.

O'Daniel was last seen in Phoenix, Arizona on May 15, 1958. He called his family there and said he was hitchhiking to Yuma, Arizona, a distance of about 200 miles. He has never been heard from again.
Could his family in Phoenix have been Mildred and their son? Maybe they later reunited and moved back to Tennessee and never contacted authorities that he had been located. One would think the Phoenix Police Department would have released the name of the person who reported Thomas missing. We know nothing about this low-profile case because the PPD has never released any information about it. They need to get on the ball.

How could he have been last seen in Phoenix but called his family there? Called from where? I understand that to mean he wasn't in Phoenix when he called his family.

O'Daniel was last seen in Phoenix, Arizona on May 15, 1958. He called his family there

I think both O'Daniel's are the same person. What are the odds of two people with the same uncommon name of Thomas Clyde and same birth year being two different people?

Last but not least, this same genealogy on Ancestry.com shows his son, Thomas, having died in Yuma, AZ in 2017. The same city his father was headed to. The only discrepancy I see is that the 1950 US Federal Census for Memphis, TN lists the son as Thomas L. O'Daniel, not Thomas C O'Daniel.
