wow, her neck. And she also is alleged to have been stabbing herself in the stomach as her brother attempted to stop her. I do not doubt she was sincerely trying to end her life.

I don't pretend to know the whys of what this mother did. I can take a guess and say post partum and/or the poison that is "spice" but that would just be a guess.

No matter the whys, innocent little ones are lost now.

An Arizona woman sobbed and appeared to hyperventilate in court Monday as she pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the fatal stabbing and partial dismemberment of her three young children.

Octavia Rogers, 29, walked slowly into the quiet courtroom, breathed loudly and held her hands up to her chest as her cries grew louder. Finally, she blurted out, “Help me.”

The woman accused of killing her three young boys back in June is now headed to trial.

29-year-old Octavia Rogers is facing three charges of first-degree murder after being accused of stabbing her three boys to death.

Police say the boys, ages 8, 5 and 2, were found in the closet and the youngest was found in a suitcase.

Rogers' trial date is set for February 16.

Family members said they remain emotionally shaken by the boys' deaths, but they do not want Rogers to face the death penalty.

"We're just trying do what we can to get through day by day," Spooney said.

"She's still our family. ... We just want her around," Spooney said.

Spooney said family members speak to Rogers by phone nearly every day.

"We talk to her all the time, just trying to hold her up," she said. "On the phone, she is very emotional."

Marquis Perkins said, "I just want to support my sister."

Source alleges mother was on "spice." There is also a history of reports to child protective services. Children were not removed even though it appears mother didn't participate in programs or services offered.

Something is seriously wrong when child protective services closes a case within 2 months of a newborn having been exposed to drugs. Anyone new to treatment knows and has repeatedly heard 90 meetings in 90 days. Outpatient treatment lasts way longer than 60 days.

Sadly, this might have been prevented if CPS had monitored mom more closely.
