Juries don't always get it right do they? I can't believe Ray is doing time and Casey is going free. Go figure. I disagree with both juries.

Yes, the jury sat there all through Ray's trial and I didn't. I tried to point out that doesn't always mean a jury will make the right decision.

that we can agree on.

Judge Resets Ray's Sentencing in Sweat Lodge Case

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — The sentencing date for a self-help author convicted in the deaths of three people following an Arizona sweat lodge ceremony has been rescheduled.

The Oct. 6 sentencing comes almost two years after James Arthur Ray led dozens of people in the ceremony near Sedona. He faces anything from probation to nine years in prison.

on the Dtaeline show Beth Karras said that the defense presented evidence that organophosphates were present.

no...they didn't....and they presented no credible evidence that O. was remotely connected with these deaths.

they threw a lot of cow manure on the wall about O. but it was about as believable as the idea that Lana Clarkson killed herself.

there was about as much evidence for each "defense theory".

course it made for good TV..way to go Beth. a TV personality now masquerading as a reporter.

This is Ray's big problem.. the judge saw everything, unlike the jurors, who were prevented from seeing much incriminating and damning evidence against JAR...and the judge can easily see the difference between truth and lawyer bs (organophophates)....JAR should get 9, then he'll be out in 3. maybe that will send a message.

"........A probation officer made no recommendation in the presentencing report on a punishment but said that Ray needs to be held responsible for the deaths that have impacted the victims' families in an unimaginable way. "His actions appear to this officer to be reckless, dangerous and negligent," wrote Michael Rygiel."

As someone who goes into the inipi, sweat lodge, I have to say that the only way to do this is with a medicine man/woman who follows traditional ways. When you are in an inipi/sweat, you are praying and asking for healing. You are also sitting in 140 degree s at the hottest point, the person doing the lodge HAS to know how to run it.When I saw the first pics of the 'lodge', it was apparent WHY the people died. So now this fraud will sit in prison for two years; he deserves much more than that. Creator will be his ultimate teacher.

Chief Arvol Looking Horse's statement on the Sweat Deaths at Angel Valley:

As Keeper of our Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle, I am concerned
for the 2 deaths and illnesses of the many people that participated in a
sweat lodge in Sedona, Arizona that brought our sacred rite under fire in the
news. I would like to clarify that this lodge and many others, are not
our ceremonial way of life, because of the way they are being conducted. My
prayers go out for their families and loved ones for their loss.

James Arthur Ray is leading discussions on how to deal with personal crisis in the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale for two days that started Saturday. His website said ticket holders can speak with Ray about challenges they face in their lives.

Anyone who pays this fraud for any class or seminar is not a victim, but a volunteer to be victimized. The info is out there to be found. Easy Peasy.

Virginia Brown doesn’t hold back when talking about the man convicted in the death of her daughter.

“He is either lying or he is delusional. He concerns me and that makes him dangerous,” Brown said. “He has not taken responsibility for his actions”...

The motivational speaker was back in Arizona on Wednesday asking the court to reinstate his civil rights and set aside his guilty conviction.

The families of two of the victims killed in the incident were also in court, hoping to convince the judge setting aside the conviction “would cause pain” and was not in the best interest of others...

Judge Michael Bluff ruled that Ray can have his civil rights restored but decided against setting aside the conviction. Bluff told the court “not enough time has passed” when denying Ray’s request.
