so i guess he will be released at about noon their time today, it seems odd that the judge made a point to say he must be held initially because he posed a likely threat to his own wellbeing (something like that, not exact words).

you would think there must have been something specific that changed his mind, i know this is a very abnormal case they are dealing with but i still feel there must have been a darn good reason for him to let him out.

I think it is because he is confined by himself due to his age and the other juveniles there at the detention center.

I will have to go back and read again but I got the impression that officers will accompany him and his mother. I guess that is to make sure he is safe or doesn't discuss the case with his mother or she with him. He is technically still under the rule of the Court even though he has a short furlough.

No telling what hoops have to be jumped through for this to happen. I think they will have someone there at all times. Probably a female officer.

It has taken me weeks to read this (reading at lunch every day) and I still am not sure. I saw some of the interview with this child and I agree with his mom he sounded like a scared little boy.,and he said he may have shot his dad he didn't want him to suffer, he never said he shot the roommate ,something just doesn't fit here. Maybe I watch to much csi or read to much but don't be surprised if he turns out to be a victim of a set up. I will wait to really form opion but something is not right with that interview, one more thing if neighbors heard popping noise why didn't roommate he was closer than neighbors , could someone else have been in the house with C . I think it's possible C found his dad already shot and maybe thought he was suffering and shot him fatal time or maybe he was threaten and is saying what he is suppose to say .

I heard on TV that they had to have an offical accompany him during the visit, this makes more sense than just turning him loose.

Yes that makes sense and the Judge that amended his order seems he is trying to keep him in one location area "Middle Wells" area, irrc and away from St. Johns, Apache County.

The grandmother says... "I knew this would happen," she said. "They were too hard on (the boy). I knew (the boy) did it. He spent the night in my bed cuddling up to me. I had a feeling he did it. If any 8-year-old boy is capable of doing this, it's (the boy)."
from the above article.

Let all LE and professionals dig deeper. There is more to this story. All will eventually come out.

It sounds to me that the grandmother is saying that the parents were so strict with the boy that she just knew one day something like this would happen.

In the article it said that the boy said that his 1,000 spanking would be his last one and LE said that he was keeping a tally of the spankings. I wonder if the 5 swats..spanking...was the 1,000 spanking? I wonder what length of time the spankings covered?

I know that there are parents that are overly strict...I've known some...but their kids didn't murder them. I would like to know more about the strictness of the parents. Five swats didn't seem that bad to me. I'm wondering if not bringing his school papers home was a habit or was that the first time that he forgot them at school? I'm not ready to jump on the "it was the parents own fault" band wagon yet. Sometimes kids and grandparents think parents are to strict when they really aren't so who knows.

I just cant believe any of this. It just doesn't make sense to me. If he was spanked this much he would be on restriction all the time. He wouldn't be playing video games, skateboarding, soccer, basketball, baseball, hunting, fishing and be able to have friends in the neighborhood that said they played with him all the time. Right, 5 swats to the behind certainly isn't abuse imo.

You are right, grandmothers especially dont like any disipline much of their grandchild. But WHY did she think THIS child was capable of murder?

Hi
Honestly,1,000 swats(If that's what they really were)is ALOT of hitting.Too much.

sounds like there is still much more to learn, judging by the comment about the grandfather telling the grandmother to disclose more to police just before she got emotional and asked them to leave.

being disciplined by his stepmother right in front of his father, if true, may have been particularly humiliating for the boy. and the fact that he shot tim six times may just be how it played out but it also could indicate that he had some anger/rage at tim also, possibly he was disciplined in front of tim or tim actually disciplined him too.

im not pointing any fingers at anyone, obviously lots of parents spank their children and are strict with them, im not claiming that this ever rose to any level of abuse.

simply that this may very well be the one child in a million that just couldnt process it, and combined with the access to guns and gun training at such a young age... as i said early on this thread, we could just be talking about a "perfect storm" type scenario. one that simply cannot be predicted.

im trying to be very sensitive to all parties here, but i think we also have to acknowledge the possibility now that there may very well have been physical abuse beyond simple spankings, those are very odd comments for a grandmother to make about her grandson while at the same time trying to protective and sympathetic to him (which she was).

im very curious to know the extent of the child's "writings".

just reading what i have written and i realize i keep flip-flopping but i guess thats just how this case is, every time something comes out it makes sense but at the same time it makes the whole thing even harder to understand.

my brain just cant wrap itself around that little boy, with that voice, reloading and shooting his dad and another adult that many times with a rifle.

im starting to wish i never heard about this case.

Hi
It's hard for me to hear too.I don't like reading about abuse to children or about any abuse. But sooner or later the person abused is going to get tired of being abused.I really hope that wasn't the case for this little boy.

If he was spanked this many times and how do we even know that is true, then he told someone about them. Kids talk about things to other kids so it will be interesting to hear if anyone even knew this.

The grandmother didn't even say he was spanked a lot just that they were too strict on him. It makes me wonder if he was more unruly than we first thought and the homework thing just kept happening over and over and over. He seemed to know what would get him in trouble. He told the officer it was because he lied about things. So is he lying here?

I know parents that are strict and if they put their children on restriction they don't give in and let them off early but they rarely spank the child unless it is a repeated pattern that the child just keeps repeating.

But no wonder LE and the DA knew this was very much premeditated.
Sheesh to even know a child is planning murder because of spanking is eerie within itself. I guess it puts other parents on notice as to what could happen if they spank their child too.

I find Tim was just collateral damage. This boy could not leave an eye witness behind. I read in articles about Tim that it wasnt unusual at all for him to befriend children and try to be a mentor.

Most who have been abused never harms their abuser or anyone for that matter. They endure and then get out the first chance they get.

I will refrain from calling spankings or swats, abuse. It is legal to spank your children. We will see if anyone ever saw bruises or signs of it.

Being strict is not abuse.

Hi
If this little boy was abused. He couldn't leave. In some cases of abuse there is a breaking point where the person starts fighting back. This topic is really bothering me.I won't discuss the abuse aspect of it any more.I just really hope that wasn't the situation for this little boy.I guess we'll just have to find out more as it comes available.
