Don't think I've seen that before. Schools are on lockdown?

Yes, that's what they are saying on the FB page.

By the afternoon, the Sheriff's Office said that children were walking to school about 8 a.m. and saw a white van stop by another child farther down the road. The children apparently called their parents and told them that an older man wearing dark sunglasses got out of the van, put the other child into the vehicle and drove away in an unknown direction. The parents then contacted law enforcement.

The child was described as 4 to 8 years old. It was unclear whether the child was a girl or a boy.

That link also says that as the day wore on, it increasingly started to look like a false alarm. Weird.

Goodness...we have nothing to go on here. No one has reported a missing child?

MCSO says that 2 children between the ages of eight and 10 reported that they had seen another smaller child, age 4-8, pulled into a white van. The child told police that a man got out of the van, took the other child and that child's bike, threw them into the van, and drove off.

Authorities say this could very well be a case of a parental or relative pickup, and not suspicious at all. However, MCSO says it cannot disregard what the child is saying.

"We're not ruling out the fact that a parent might have picked up their kid, or a grandparent," says Enriquez. "But the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office will investigate this as an abduction until we know either way."

So...A child is missing but no one is missing a child?

Huh?
Hope all of this is a misunderstanding.

I feel like we have these types of cases every now and then and they always turn out to be a hoax.

I hope so... It's still not confirmed so who knows.

MCSO investigates possible child abduction for 13 hours, no child confirmed missing

WADDELL, AZ - Maricopa County deputies investigated a possible missing child or child abduction in Waddell, Arizona for 13 hours, but no child has been confirmed missing to MCSO as of Wednesday at 10:19 p.m.

Many calls came into MCSO about matching suspect and vehicle descriptions but none were found to be connected. Sheriff deputies then released kids from the school once a parent was identified, and all children had been released around 7 p.m. with still no report of a missing child by anyone in the area.

By 8 p.m., MCSO had scaled back its man power. By 10:30 p.m., MCSO removed its command post near Olive and Citrus.

MCSO said there was no confirmed report of a missing child in the Waddell community.

I wonder if there have been actual missing children in this area that have gotten less attention and resources than this non-confirmed, likely fake child.
