AGENCY ASSIST - MISSING PERSON: YI PIN LONG / PIERCE FERRY LANDING

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue is assisting the National Park Service in locating a Yi Pin Long, a 66-year-old Asian female who has gone missing while on foot near Pierce Ferry Landing (north of Meadview).

She was last seen about 2pm yesterday (2/2/25) afternoon and was wearing a dark sweatshirt, black pants and orange/blue tennis shoes. She has black hair, about 5ft 3inches tall and weights about 135 pounds.

If you have any information on here location, please contact the Mohave County Sheriff's Office at (928) 753-0753 and reference DR# 2025-004153.

Yi Pin Long, 66, was last seen at about 2 p.m. on Sunday in the remote area near where the Colorado River flows into Lake Mead on the Nevada-Arizona border. Pierce Ferry is accessed on the Arizona side of the river, about 50 miles northwest of Dolan Springs on U.S. 93 and about 8 miles from Meadview.

Was Yi Pin hiking in the area? I really hope that she's somewhere safe.

@GuyfromCanada, apparently she was day hiking, according to this link.
Here’s what looks to be a photo from surveillance video of her in a doorway (photo from the same source I’ve linked above)

It’s sad there’s not more information about this woman’s case.

Wish we knew info such as:

How did she arrive at such a remote location? Did she drive there? Or, did she get separated from a tour group, perhaps? No mention of a car.

Where does she live? Does she live somewhat nearby, in AZ or NV? Any familiarity with the area?

Where was the surveillance video of her taken from, as I don’t see any building by the Pearce Ferry landing?

No updates that I can find.

I found a white pages listing for someone of that name and age with ties to Nevada, but showing current address as Pennsylvania. https://www.whitepages.com/name/Yi-Long BUT in looking at Nationwide listings, with no age breakdown, there are two many names to count.

A female over age 65 hiking alone? I don't care how fit she appears, too many unforseen events can occur in isolated areas. (Rock slides, twisted ankle, getting lost, encountering snakes/aggressive animals, dizziness or other health issue, inability to use cell service, dehydration, etc.) Ugh, I just realized I misread the dates. She has been missing since Feb, 2...not Feb.22...not good.

I know many of the reports say she was "day hiking" but to me it looks as if she were dressed more for a casual day running errands as opposed to hiking a remote area. If this is the correct area it sounds like it's' been closed as a boat launch for years due to the low water levels and outside of 10 primitive camp sites, there's no water, no cell phone coverage, really NOTHING there scenic or otherwise that I could see. https://www.riverlakes.com/pearce.htm

I'm from Chicago - I think our idea of scenic involves hot dogs, baseball and traffic . . but thanks for making me smile this morning. Grace

Well that would make a change from sheep, forests and hills here in Scotland.

I think it sounds like a serene place, definitely somewhere I'd gladly go to myself just for the peace and quiet and beautiful views.
