Baez Wants Casey Present at Depositions of Jail Inmates and Personnel

  • #81
I think that JB originally thought the case a quick cake walk towards fame and fortune ... but then they discovered Caylee's remains and it became a DP case. Rut-roh!

JB obviously had a short-term game plan that was based on the ~$200K but this spun out of control and now ICA is theoretically indigent and JB is locked into a long drawn out and involved case.

Maybe ICA is going to do the Depos so JB can focus on other work that will make him money. ICA will earn her keep.

Do you really think he is? To me he is someone who never learned social skills, never learned the normal rules of the road, and hasn't learned any of the rules and regulations of his profession. To me he doesn't know and even worse, he doesn't care. He seems to think he is privileged - which to him means he can do as he likes.

He's a bit like a billy goat someone cut free to wander the streets of New York - a little garbage here, but that person over there, wander across traffic here and cause screaming brakes and traffic jams - just no idea what is actually going on.

I just can't comprehend how someone's fantasy about who they are, and their reality of who they actually are and in what light they are viewed by others. Does this man not even have an inkling what a dufus people think he is? Seriously.....

Too funny & too true!!!

Just for the depos of Jail personnel because ICA can't remember their names. We also learned today that Amy was never deposed before the cheque case and still not deposed in the murder case.

Casey can't remember names? Since when? She can remember names of people who don't even exist...first..middle...and last names. Baez wants her sitting in on the depos but not because she can't remember names.

This is the feeling I got when he was hem-hawing about getting her signature. Like he *really* didn't want to go see her.

Yeah, I know. I got the same feeling!

Dear GOD, can you IMAGINE ICA doing depos? It would dissolve really fast into accusations, yelling, screaming, and such. It would be total chaos. I shudder at the thought. No, there are other ways she's been earning her keep, I'm sure...

Although the thought of her doing a depo and correcting someone with what really happened, thus outing herself as the murderer, kind of amuses me.

09/28/2010 Order Dismissing Motion to Allow Use of Laptop Computers Within Orange County Jail

Does this mean Baez is no longer permitted to bring his laptop in to show Casey her mothers e-mails?

He was granted permission to take his laptop into the jail - so I think this Order is simply dismissing the Motion which made the request, because the request has already been granted. The Judge is just cleaning out the case file of Motions which need an official Order to close action on the Motion.

That's OK. Jose upgraded to an iPad anyway. *Technically* not a laptop - and I'd bet he'd play that card if he had to. :D

Yeah, I know. I got the same feeling!

Me too. JB resisted getting her signature on the first STIPULATION for the entomology evidence to be sent to the Defense expert, Dr. Huntington, and JB said that HE could sign it himself right then. JB started to mumble something about not needing the Defendant's signature, but he was cut off.

Then, when he was told that his client MUST sign it also, he stalled saying that he could wait until he had all of the STIPULATIONS from Ashton, and take them all at one time. He apparently did not want to have to go see his client any more times than absolutely necessary. IMO

I question WHY Baez resisted getting her signature on these documents. ...and I don't believe (okay, maybe just a bit :innocent:) that it's because he doesn't want to go see her :behindbar more than necessary.

Ultimately, Baez had to be instructed by Judge Perry :gavel: to have the stipulations document signed by Casey reminding him that Death is Different and she's local.

IMO, I may be going over board but, I would have liked to see her siggy on all the documents and motions pertaining to her case...and I think she should be in attendance at ALL HEARINGS :twocents:

Casey should WANT to be at all the hearings, or does she trust the legal expertise of Jose Baez? She is still off in La La Land believing this case will some how resolve itself.

I think her vanity gets the best of her. She doesn't have access to nice hair care products, a blow dryer/styling brush, decent makeup, etc. The clothes, need I say more, definitely not something she would wear after seeing pictures of her before she went to jail.

She strutted into Jose's office in short shorts and a tight top carrying a binder labeled 'Media Reports' or something like that. Kind of gives you an idea of where her priorities were at the time. She couldn't even wear a missing Caylee T-shirt without tying it in a knot to show off her skin tight jeans. Even one of the reporters asked why she was strutting around like that. It was so over the top and inappropriate considering the circumstances.

I believe it's as simple as that, she doesn't want to be seen (especially on camera) not looking her best. It's probably difficult to strut with the leg shackles too.

If she had all of the above and a nice hair cut, I think she'd be posing for the camera every chance she got.

IMO

Casey Anthony was arrested and charged with murdering Caylee on October 14, 2008.

So in a few weeks from now - October 14, 2010 marks her 2 year anniversary in JAIL! Where she will face many more months until the May 2011 trial....

At one point, her jail time will be equal to the short life of Caylee.

In the end, when the trial is over, I feel very confident there will be justice for Caylee.

Is it possible that Baez is attempting to shield Casey of the "REAL" possibilities?
I can see him telling her," it's all B.S. The state has NO evidence. You'll be free my little buttercup.

I can also see Casey being excited to have a visitor, and instead of a quick 1 minute signature, Casey chats his ear off for 3 hours.
