From sleeping on the floor of a prison cell to hours of rigorous psychiatric tests: The squalid life of mother-of-two Sara Connor

Yea Mr. Sudarsa had it much more cozy when he was lying dying on the beach sand. :gaah:

Can you believe the press on this? They'll have her as Mother Mary next. If David was one of the 'parkies' who hangs around the area in front of the Beach Hotel as media has hinted, and she was seeing him, then there has been some self destructive influences in their lives for awhile.

The more I hear about this story the worse it gets. Like am I really expected to feel sorry for this woman because she didn't get visited for a week and slept on a little mat? That's just wrong and if that was the intention behind the story then it had the opposite effect on me.

Very much so, I'm quite appalled that there are these fundraising efforts for her too, and what about all the flowery praise heaped upon this so called 'beautiful person', get a grip, she participated in a brutal murder, if that's a 'beautiful person' then God help the rest of humanity. Talk about warped.

If they had any remorse they'd give the money from the fundraiser to the victim's family. because they'll struggle now.

I doubt they do, also that fundraiser was started by Sara's friends, the money will be used for her benefit only. I hope to god they don't push the money raising too much because I think it is just a terrible look, if people want to help Sara because to know her fine, but to launch a public fundraising campaign for a killer is just revolting!

Is it a Gofundme campaign, or something else?

I seem to remember that being discussed with regard to Tommy Schaefer's mother starting a campaign. I think it turned out that campaigning to help an accused murderer is not allowed on the funding sites. I believe her campaign got taken down.

There are real ethical issues about crowdfunding for accused murderers.

They're hosting it themselves on their own website which was set up days after she was arrested, I could give you a link but I don't really want to promote it.

There are a couple of self appointed marketing gurus involving themselves in the case.

This is the only fund that people should be donating to imo.
Can you imagine how insulting it is to Wayan Sudarsa's family to hear that people are contributing towards Sara's early release for her part in this brutal murder?
I'd say it is contributing to her 'defence', but we all know it is not that in reality.

At the same time a fundraising page has also been set up in Bali, by the Soleman charity, run by UK expats, for the widow and children of murdered police officer Wayan Sudarsa. At the same time it had also raised more than $7000.

Bali police death: More witnesses come forward in Sara Connor and David Taylor murder case

Bali investigators say six new witnesses have come forward in the case against Australian Sara Connor and her boyfriend David Taylor, who are accused of murdering a local policeman.

Police say the new witnesses include people who were at the site where Connor and Taylor allegedly burned the clothes they had been wearing on the morning of Wayan Sudarsa's death

Both suspects are expected to be returned to the scene of the alleged crime for a full reconstruction of the officer's death.

It will be the first time they will be confronted with each others version of events.

Oh and also in the article

It (the re-enactment) comes as a fund set up to raise money for 45-year-old Connor and her family in the wake of her detention in Bali has now requested that all donations go to a similar fund set up for the widow of the murdered police officer.

The Sara Fund, set up by friends and family in Byron Bay, had been raising money to pay for Connor’s family and two young sons, aged nine and 11, but late last week the amount of money it raised was removed from the web page.

And now any donations are directed to the fund in Bali for the police officer.

“Sara thanks you for your support but requests that any donations in the future be directed to the fund established by the widow of Wayan Sudarsa … a fund supported by Sara and her family,” the website now says.

A group of UK expats in Bali and a charity called Soleman set up a fund last week to raise money for Sudarsa’s family and to assist with his children’s education and university fees.

Last Friday The Sara Fund had raised $7182 before the tally was removed from the site. At the same time the fund for Sudarsa’s family was $7341.

We don't hear of anybody visiting David, while Sara had at least twice visitors.

Is David not allowed to have visitors?

Wow .. That's really good news. Perhaps Sara herself even requested this once she admitted her role in the crime. Whatever brought about this adjustment I'm glad, they have done the right thing.

Can I be a skeptic and wonder if this was part of an arrangement with Balinese authorities to go easy on Sara come sentencing?

As far as I can tell he's been traveling the globe for over 10 years, perhaps he's only got loose ties with people from back home now, I saw a comment by his mother in relation to his quitting smoking though, so you'd think she'd fly in to see him?

Well it's of course a very long journey, 16+ hours. Maybe she is not in good health, or doesn't have the money. But surely he should have some friends on Bali? Maybe they're all as horrified as we are.

Maybe people don't like him much, or have seen him acting out violently in the past and don't want to be associated?

Yes quite possible. Is there a funding campaign for him like there was for Sara?
