Whoa! This video has some footage of what looks like HM & TS in the room in which they were discovered the day after the assault:

8/14/14: http://www.balitv.tv/index.php/seputar-bali/item/4686-pembunuh-bule-as-dibekuk-di-kamar-hotel
Heather tells them they need to take her to the US embassy. Wish some one understood Indonesian, It's completely different from any western language

The police reports of randomly having strange people in the house make more sense now & that started when HM was really young I think -& when neither Sheila or she were home....

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...U-S-socialite-mother-Bali-help-boyfriend.html

" a police commander agreed the couple had rejected KFC when it was sent in to them at their separate police station cells - he is in Denpasar and she is in South Kuta - but said police did not intend to insult them with food that black people would reject on cultural grounds.

'They are Americans. We thought we would give them some American food and they would be grateful,' said the Commander Djoko Hariutomo. 'So today they are eating rice-based local food.'

Hope they enjoy their rice. It will probably become a majority of what they will be eating. I bet they will soon grow tired of it and WISH they had KFC and McDonalds. I can't even begin to understand how they were insulted by KFC and McD. I am sure their displeasure had more to do with their lofty expectations as liking to pose as high class people used to the finest. Did they expect that meals would be catered affairs?

I am truly confused by this I have to say. That both of them would have made the same "racial profiling" complaint from two different police stations. They are both mixed race children. Are they really offended by someone offering them KFC or was that just a convenient excuse to throw out the racism card against the Bali LE? I actually do "get it" with HM. I get everything she was trying to do to make herself an international example of someone they better not mess with. Trying right from the beginning to throw them off and to get them to be scared of her as a young, black, pregnant, wealthy American woman. She was pulling out all the stops to make someone of importance believe she was being abused and mistreated and I guess she expected this to be a benefit to her and that legal eagles would just swoop right in there and save her and get her home pronto. Or at least work to her advantage as far as how she was going to be treated right from the get go. And in the US it probably would have. They would have seen her for the "PITA" that she is and they would have handled her with kid gloves. And perhaps in Bali it did too, for a while. I think the sexual assault accusations, unexplained needle marks and prenatal vitamin complaints might have been the point of going too far. I'll bet she learned that's what you do to get better treatment from her time spent with other juvies and just from hanging around her "bad crowd". But was Tommy part of that "bad crowd"?

It just seems strange to me that he also made the racism remarks about the KFC. Although we haven't heard of any other complaints he's made. Doesn't mean he didn't make them, just that he didn't have a blowhard US attorney on speed dial to announce them to the press I suppose.

Just noticed this detail in the initial reports about the crime … sounds as if HM possibly agreed to using the first Bali lawyer assigned to her - and maybe agreed to searches and forensic testing, or acknowledged that items belonged to her/her mum (or whatever the investigating documents were) - while TS did not.

Mack signed investigating documents and a letter of lawyer's assignment after Wednesday's questioning while Schaefer refused, saying he wanted to wait for his lawyer to arrive from America, Sihombing said.

http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/correction-indonesia-us-woman-dead-story-25099831

I guess the fact that Tommy had been arrested a couple of times before in the US is indicative of his decision to hold off and wait for a lawyer? Heather was being co-operative until she realized they weren't buying what she was selling probably.

they probably discussed it beforehand knowing they were going to end up arrested anyway. Like they both had that armed gang story too, I cannot believe that anyone would come up with that - there's a tonne more believable stories they could have come up with that might've actually been slightly more possible.
It's kind of funny they decided on the racial profiling thing, they're in Indonesia and everyone is south-east asian...(so not exactly sticking it to the white man) - they have basically the same skin colour as everyone & they're the ones from privileged America - maybe it would have been more acceptable if they were actually from the african continent. They must have discussed about creating as many complaints as possible hoping it will get them noticed world wide, or something.

ALSO I REALLY WANT to know about the extravagant childhood Bday parties the friends said they attended - I wish they'd comment on articles more because it's really interesting - Maybe they'll be more interesting info when they finally go to court or make a statement/are in Kerobokan.

They evidently do not understand that no matter what their skin tone is, they are just bules in Indonesia.

(As noted in the title of the last video that Quester found ... BULE KILLER IN THE ROOM AS arrested ... (translated by Google) http://www.balitv.tv/index.php/seputar-bali/item/4686-pembunuh-bule-as-dibekuk-di-kamar-hotel)

8/14/14: http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/629314/american-tourists-body-found-in-suitcase-on-bali-police

... Police have 24 hours following the arrest to officially name the detained pair as suspects.

Once they are suspects, police can hold them for an initial 20 days while they investigate, but can seek an extension for several more weeks if needed.

They will only be formally charged once police have finished investigating and passed the details to prosecutors. They would be charged at an initial court appearance. ...

Arrested 8/13/14 + 20 days = Sept 2nd

Very good find, Quester. They were in a cottage room when nabbed by the police.

Gee, can't HM be bothered to spin the story with some of her acting abilities. If the first thing out of your mouth is you need your attorney,.....

Why would she need to wait for her attorney before making a statement if they were going to say armed men killed her mother?

It's only a matter of time now, somebody must go under the bus. :underbus:

Has anyone in TS's family gone to see him or are the prisoners not allowed visitors?
