Once by HM and another entry for WW. The next entry says "COURT RETAINS JURISDICTION OVER THIS MATTER" for HM. I think the Slayer statue is settled. Thanks to Bibbs pleading guilty, and all the info he provided, it seems clear that HM is not entitled to any of SVW funds. I wondered this when I read the link. Now HM's sycophant is posting the above. "Cost us Millions of dollars, freedom.... I think HM just got a bag of nuttin'!! The court retaining jurisdiction may be about Stella and her inheritance. I wish we knew more. Please keep us updated, folks with links on Instagram.

I sure hope you're right but I'd have to think that the Chicago Tribune would have something on this if the matter has been settled. I'm sure that one reporter still has a direct hotline to HM for her side of the "story" to get the facts according to HM (or should I say the lies according to HM?) I remember reading posts on NV's instagram before it went private and she commented on HM being a "wealthy heiress" at least once. It also appears that she's out of prison now? I guess HM couldn't front her any cash once she got out? So are we to assume that HM is having just as much trouble maintaining relationships behind bars as she did when she was back in Chicago buying friendships and boyfriends/baby daddies/hitmen?

NV is still locked up and striking up relationships with new inmates (including one who has been reported on, Myra Williams). I'm pretty sure HM and NV had a falling out several months ago. For a while both their feeds were filled with pics of them two but at one point I noticed HM deleted everything about NV. Shortly thereafter NV did the same and posted something about "even best friends can break your heart blah blah... And a couple other sad messages I believe. They weren't up for long, but NV recent post is the first time she referenced HM in months. So yes, I'd say she's struggling lol

I agree, I think HM and NV had a falling out shortly after the article about wild sex and drinking hit the Daily Mail.

There are very few westerners in Kerobokan. Anyone who has spent time overseas will realize how utterly exhausting it gets to be surrounded by people who don't speak your language or only speak it very poorly. You long for an ordinary, fast-flowing conversation in your own language. It's natural for westerners to seek out each other's company just for this reason. HM and NV also had a wealthy background in common, although I think NV's family has a LOT more money than HM ever had.

I wouldn't be surprised if HM is in a bit of a cash crunch. There were problems last year at Kerobokan, the top guy got fired, and the replacement guy cracked down. The visitors used to meet in one big open area - there were reports of covert sex between visitors and inmates. There are pictures of Nikki and Scott Rush in each other's arms. That has changed - visitors and inmates are now separated by bars. I wouldn't be surprised if it's no longer possible to pay a guard to take you into town for a day - HM certainly didn't help anyone when she bragged about being allowed to do it. As corrupt as Kerobokan officials may be, they don't really want it all over the front page of international papers.

I'm not sure HM is cooperating with the news media. In one of last year's interviews (People?), right when the reporter got to the 'tough' questions, HM suddenly hung up and never called back. The Chicago news may be biding their time, figuring that in two months, something is likely to make the news because it will be time for Stella to leave Kerobokan. I certainly hope HM's not going to get some kind of 'humanitarian' pardon so she doesn't have to give Stella up. I'd be surprised if that happened for two reasons: 1) she hasn't got the money to pay for it and 2) Hotel K has announced 30 prisoners will be put to death this year - part of the on-going crackdown.

One other small thing. Prisoners regularly get granted sentence reductions each year. HM and TS got a one month reduction in 2015. I kept watching the news to see if they got another reduction in 2016. I finally found a report that 15-20 prisoners did get sentence reductions, but oddly, the names and amount of reduction hadn't been released like in the past. The nationalities of the prisoners were released, however, and two of them were Americans. It seems likely to me that it was HM and TS.

A total of 22 prisoners locked up in Bali of foreign nationality are receiving sentence remissions in honor of Indonesian Independence Day.

“Most of the foreign prisoners are incarcerated for drug cases,” head of the Bali Province Regional Office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Sulistiono, told Antara Bali in Denpasar on Tuesday.

The names of the lucky 22, however, were not released publicly by Sulistiono. He did say the nationalities though: United States (2), Australia (4), the Netherlands (2), England (1), Germany (1), Italy (1), Russia (1), Nigeria (1), Thailand (3), Malaysia (2), the Philippines (3), and Bangladesh (1).

Many of these prisoners are housed in Bali’s notorious Kerobokan Prison. Reducations range from one to six months.

Well I hope if they continue to do this they stick to the minimum and only reduce these sentences by one month each time.

Might be worth keeping an eye on Sara Connor and the news coming out about her as I believe she was placed in the same cell as HM. And not surprisingly, the story she and her boyfriend David Taylor are peddling is pretty much the same as the the story HM and TS peddled. And another gallant boyfriend is willing to take the heat. :notgood:

Also, it appears that Sara was not financially able to gain the help of HM's good friend and super lawyer Ari S and her attempt at a much smaller bribe to the widow of the slain officer fell flat. It is an interesting case to watch because the Australian media has cameras, with sound, right in the courtroom.

I wonder who told SC it would be a bright idea to offer to buy off the victim's family in court - and for such a small amount? It doesn't matter what local wages are, by average Indonesian standards, Westerners with enough $$ to travel to Bali on vacation are all wealthy beyond belief. Stupid stupid stupid - and a huge insult to the family in a highly public place.

It's going to be interesting to see how this one plays out. The Indonesian authorities usually hammer drug offenses much more harshly than murder, but this was a Westerner murdering an Indonesian - and a police officer at that. I think SC and her boyfriend may be in a lot of trouble.

That said, I think the maximum either can get is 15 years, because the crime was clearly not pre-meditated.

Re: US coverage of HM/TS. RB gets sentenced in March and Stella turns two in March. I'm hoping we're going to get a lot of updates in the US news in a couple months.

Looking up that docket entry, this is what a Chicago attorney has to say...

Dear Litigant: That sounds like an entry on the Cook County Online Docket. It means that the Defendant (most likely) asked to file their appearance and for time to answer or otherwise plead to the complaint.

Three comments.

1) is she on something?

2) I'm not sure what her game is, but I'm sure this is not what it seems.

3) Very imaginative details, but some of her lies are exposed by details that have been out there for a long time - like the dates on the FBI cellphone records.

Does she think maybe TS will get a pardon and be able to take Stella?

Hello again! I haven't posted here in ages, but I do check in from time to time. When a friend emailed me the link to the Chicago Tribune story today, I knew there would be commentary here.

To me, as horrible and false as Heather's videos are, they are not wigged out ramblings. They are carefully calculated to advance her position. Note these two claims she makes:

1. Her mother murdered her father.

2. Heather alone committed the murder of Sheila. Tommy and his cousin are innocent of any wrongdoing before or during the murder.

I'll repeat: these are scurrilous lies. But I think she's said these things for very particular reasons.

1. Heather still hopes to gain the money. Her first volley in a battle to discredit her mother's right to the money was to claim a while back that her mother cheated her of her inheritance, and that it was her father's intention that she, Heather, get the money. I believe she embarked on this course because she feared a loss in the Slayer Rule battle. If the money is hers by right even before her mother's death, then her murder of her mother doesn't allow a Slayer Rule finding against Heather.

She's attempting to strengthen her right to the money by this new claim: as a murderer, her mother never had any right to the inheritance because of the Slayer Rule! Heather is next in line, so the money is rightfully hers. She's a sly fox, although how any lawyer could turn James Mack's death into a murder is beyond me. Nonetheless I'm sure there are nuggets she is holding back concerning this line of attack.

But Heather still has a problem. If she gets the money and buys her way out of prison she will always live in worry of a criminal charge against her in the US. She may not be able (or willing) to live forever out of the US in a extradition-free zone, so she needs to address that problem. Hence:

2. There never was any conspiracy. I'm guessing whatever legal advice she is getting is concentrating on the possible conspiracy charge facing her. It doesn't come with a double jeopardy defense, as a new trial for murder in the US would.

How to eliminate that problem? Eliminate the conspiracy. Her admission to being the sole murderer and "explaining" the incriminating texts is her defense against conspiracy.

I don't think for a moment she will prevail in any of these battles, but when you're in jail with nothing better to do than think up more scheming falsehoods, this is the result. Her lies are carefully designed to aid her in further skullduggery and injustice. Even though I'm sure she'll fail, I hate the idea that she may be feeling some hope right now, because she believes in her own ability to get what she wants.
