Barbara was last seen at work in Pinnelas Park, Florida between 10:00 am and 1:30 pm on May 29, 1981. Her brother went to her store at 1:30 pm and she was gone, leaving her purse and cigarettes behind. She has never been heard from again. Barbara's brother reported her missing when she had not returned home by 7:00 pm.
Barbara's car disappeared with her, but was found a few days later abandoned in a parking lot in Clearwater, Florida. Some of her belongings were inside the vehicle, but there was no sign of her.
