Beautiful Afro and White Turtleneck Girl

  • #21
I guess this beautiful lady still hasn't been identified? I do hope she is OK, but if she hasn't been located alive, it is possible she is deceased and that missing person's records or even UID's need to be checked for those who have characteristics similar to hers and then perhaps we could give her a name.

I didn't see this beautiful lady posted anywhere yet. I wanted to get a thread going for her.

I really tried my best to un-obscure her features. It was very difficult. Her face is like 3/4 shadow..

Good work, at least we have one side that's not in a shadow, the other side should look the same, hopefully.

I sure wish we could date the photo but, she is wearing the turtleneck which have been popular forever, maybe more so between the 50's and 60's though I really can't say for certain. There is absolutely no background to figure out the location, the earrings aren't anything that stand out as being popular during a certain timeframe, the only thing that stands out to me is it appears to me that she may be dressed up to go to a party or some event. I don't know whatesle to add except that Acala's timeframe needs to be studied closely to figure where he was and when and then maybe we can figure out who this lovely lady is.

LE said that all the photographs were taken during the 1970's. Alcala has been to multiple states in the US, so this could be almost anywhere at this point. I believe that LE's cropping made this weird effect of photos happen.

OK, if the picture was taken in the 70's then is it possible for you to do a search for either and or a missing person or UID fitting this ladies description? I know it isn't much to go on but perhaps we could match up UID to a missing person? IDK?

I was trying to find the blog of all the photos but no luck yet. I do see that after the show aired, there were some tips called in.

Tips pour in after release of serial killer's photos - CNN.com
(CNN) -- Dozens of tips have poured in after California authorities released more than 100 photos of women and children on Thursday that are believed to have been taken by a serial killer who appeared on the "Dating Game."

Police determined Friday that two female minors in the pictures, taken in the 1970s, are alive and well. They have received tips on a handful of other women who could be dead or missing, according to Patrick Ellis, a detective with the Huntington Beach Police Department.

"We've received several calls saying that someone in a photo could be so-and-so who's been missing or found dead," Ellis said Friday. "The response has been overwhelming, and that's what we were looking for."

Investigators are trying to determine whether any of the people in the photos were victims of Rodney Alcala, 66, who was convicted in February of kidnapping and murdering a 12-year-old girl and raping and murdering four Los Angeles County women in the 1970s. A jury this week recommended he be sentenced to death.

Ellis said police received tips on as many as four dead or missing women who were identified by other people calling and e-mailing about the photos.

"People are saying that they recognize someone from their past, from school or college or the neighborhood beach," he said.

The two women who identified themselves from the photos on Friday were minors at the time the pictures were taken and are now in their 40s, Ellis said. Police are not releasing their identities, though Ellis said they live in California.

There's a brief glimpse of her when this aired.

It is sad this article is 10 years old, has there been anymore updates since then? I think the story has disappeared from the news and needs to be reignited. Flame on...

I could do UID for sure.

Good, OK, if you could do UID's and find any you can that have the same features as "OBBG" such as her being African American or possibly mixed race, you could est. her age 'I'd say pre 30's just to play it safe', you might add she had an Afro, I can't tell her eye color really.

Once you have your list of possible matches to "OBBG" then take them and look at missing persons for women who have the same features to a UID as well as looking similar to the photo of "OBBG", she may not have worn her hair in an afro at all times and might have straightened it or had it fashioned in some other way.

If you find any missing persons that match any of the UIDs take note of those and of course if you find a missing person take that along with and then compare them to the Acala timeline and see where he was when one missing persons you had previously found went missing, also, do the sa6me thing with the UID's and the locations they were found.

You said that LE said the photographs were taken in the 70's but I would still keep my search from around 1968-1983, of course I could be off on those numbers, it's just my guess.

These are just suggestions, you may already have a method to this madness.

Oh, last night I was looking at UID's on NamUs.com and found a couple of them that looked somewhat interesting to me, I need to take a closer look at them though.

I could do UID for sure.

Dang, now I'm wondering if she was even wearing earrings or if it is just something in the background?

I know you asked what "OBBG" means somewhere upline, it is just something I made up, to me it stands for "Our Beautiful Black Girl", I know we should come up with a better name for her.

Thank you for the images of the jewelry found in Acala's storage unit, there is possibly more images of other jewelry the women were wearing OR maybe Acala didn't keep trophies from all his kills, maybe he started out not taking them and later on started collecting them, maybe he only kept the jewelry from the women who were most important to him, it is sure puzzling.
