My son was subpoenaed to appear in court tomorrow. He travelled 350 miles to appear only to find out less than 24 hours that court has been delayed until July. Does anyone know about witness rights to reimbursement for expenses? He is in California. Gas and time off of work for a now delayed case means twice the expense. Can he get reimbursed?

Oh man, what a bummer.
I did a quick Google search and saw that witnesses subpoenaed to testify in certain trials are eligible for reimbursement. the first link that came up was for depositions and/or trials related to Department of Industrial Relations.

So, it might depend on what type of trial and who subpoenaed him to testifying
