Another question . His service gun . How do you make a gun shoot , I know that sounds dumb but is it just like a button to release a safety catch and then shoot , or do you have to it etc ? I’m not sure if I grabbed someone’s gun I would know what to do and I’d just try and squeeze the trigger . I guess she’s probably shot guns before though as it could well be a hobby in that kind of circle .

“Well I think that one thing we have found out is that he had gone fishing. I think it was on Wednesday. He spoke to one of his squad brothers, Mister Rivero, and according to Mister Rivero, Jemmott was boasting about his fishing trip and the fishes that he caught. So it is evident that he might have gone out at sea fishing on Wednesday.”

So again it does sound like he’s having a break from work , I’m curious why he’d carry his gun out that night to see a friend .

From the earlier article , we have the time 12:30 am Friday morning & that it’s a security guard first on scene .


According to the official report, just after 12:30AM, Jemmott and Hartin were socializing on a pier in San Pedro Town when a single gunshot was heard. A security guard from a nearby resort rushed to the dock and observed Hartin on the dock. ComPol said that Hartin appeared to have blood on her arms and clothing after the security guard called the police.

ComPol said that the senior police officer was on time off on the island to solve some personal issues. “I was not aware he was out on San Pedro until I got the call last night that he had died,” said Williams. “It’s a sad situation, and it is something that we as a department will have to find a way to deal with and will as best as we can,” ComPol said. “The police have spoken to several persons living near the area of the incident and will use such information in their investigation.”

so it does look like he’s having a break away from his home & family as it appears to be an island bit away from the mainland .

Here’s a video with I think the policeman in charge , he says it’s believed they were drinking together . Also in the video is Mr Jemmotts sister , it’s not her really saying that he went out because they called , just that’s the type of thing he would do . But if you were friends and you go a call to socialise you might go out wouldn’t you ?

Im finding this so bizarre. I don’t know much about drugs , is 0.4 grams of cocaine on her the type of quantity someone would just take on a night out ?

it just seems so odd to be on the end of the pier drinking together especially after curfew. ( I wonder where they got the drinks from ? )

I wonder if she was on a lot of drugs as it says about her being in a confused type state ?

He’s a big guy too to get a gun off when one minute you are drinking . I’m just really amazed at this case , this woman is a multi millionaire & husbands dad a billionaire.

I'm not an expert, but I don't think it's all that unusual for LE to carry their gun even when off duty, is it?

Hartin told detectives she was giving the officer a massage moments before the freak accident, according to local news reports. The pair had reportedly been playing around with the weapon before the shooting.

Latest information to 7News is that, the investigation file examining the shooting death of Superintendent Henry Jemmott has been passed on to the Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl Lynn Vidal. She will now decide what charge will be brought against Jasmine Hartin for his death. Reports say Hartin has told police in a statement that it was an accidental shooting.

Social media followers point out that Hartin may have been experienced in firearms as evidenced by this picture taken 9 years ago which was lifted from her Facebook account.

The 32-year-old Canadian mother of two is expected to be represented by senior counsel Godfrey Smith, but he is thought to be only the “local representative” for her actual attorney who is expected to be a British Queens Counsel, according to reports.

Reports say police considered charging the 32 year old mother of two for possession of 0.4 grams of cocaine - but because she is now reported to be cooperating with police, the more serious charge related to Jemmott's shooting death is expected to be brought.

No comments accepted at DM with some of these articles. Whether she did it or not, intentional or not, as I read her news this morning, I was so glad my life, although not perfect, is so much simpler than her situation. Sitting in a Belize jail, with a dirt floor, surrounded by indescribable filth and hoping all will be ok is not pretty. I am thankful this morning.
