Benjaman Kyle - Those who still need investigation - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The similarities I see are 1. the left ear, from about midway to the top; 2. right ear, from the lobe up to top; 3. inside left bottom of eye across the nose to the inside right bottom of eye;(Mr. Smith's eyes on the outer edges seem to sink further in than BK's, but the inside closer to the nose is very close.) Looking at both pictures side by side, I think this is a possibility. Thank you Peliman

While awaiting his real identity, the Amnesia victim refers to himself as Benjaman Kyle. Mr. Kyles' fingerprints have been run through civilian and military databases, his DNA is in CODIS and the MtDNA databases. A scan in the NCMEC and the TX MPC, and we could not find Andy Sims and was wondering if this has been submitted.

Hello Dreamweaver, I'll be around to answer what I can. Let me attempt to answer your questions.

I also got stopped at the ears and not knowing BK's histories I can tell you some families run deep here. I'm located next to Richmond Hill county and west of Savannah (Chatham county.) The address listed for the missing person is west of and runs directly to I-95 and a couple exits north of Richmond Hill.

I only saw the story break locally yesterday and know nothing more. Yes someone would have to coordinate with Effingham sheriffs detectives to check on relatives. Around here if you say you are from the Smith family, we want to know if your from the round faced Smiths of Square faced Smiths.

I did put it up here for those who wish to follow up and second opinions. I'm just putting a dot out here if it fits the puzzle. Thanks for all you do out here.

Teens out on the town, 30ish age guys fresh from the bar, someone who does not like tourists, local thugs?

Are there some well known people who are always in trouble with the law?
Have there been other incidents of people attacked, beaten and robbed?

Is there a local paper that has reports of a break in on Main St?, that kind of thing?
I ask because I live in a small town, pop. 20,000 and our local paper still does the crime reports. No names, just out on E Main St, graffiti found at the underpass. or Man arrested at Safeway for threatening the checker.

What about people who listen to the police scanner? We have a few of those. They always know what is what.

I wish I could answer all your questions so let me paint you a picture of this corner of Georgia sans the romantic lure of Savannah. Which has a number of local activities and a number of clubs and attractions, islands, beaches attracting a large population. Let's call this area, east of I-95 Now, let's look west. West of I-95 west can lead to smaller cities, communities, huge military presence and another interstate leading to this area. A good St. Patrick's parade can draw 400,000 people into the Savannah area (east.)

I-95 can be a corridor from Florida to Washington D.C. for criminals and fugitives who have committed far more serious offenses. This area can have any of the groups you mention except tourism since we rely on it so much. We just close our eyes and hit the gas. <kidding>

I'm sure there maybe some but honestly the activity would be extremely high, I would forget tomorrow what I heard today.

Having said all that, west can also get extremely rural. The county I'm in Effingham is huge and goes as far north as the Savannah river and still come close to Richmond Hill on the other side and west of Savannah. I'm 25 miles west of Savannah.

Actually the more I think of it the more it's possible the whole Kyle story went under the radar here. I'd advise the group with info to contact the Effingham Sheriffs Dept. and to keep reminding them about the Kyle story. Numbers and names are in the story. This could be a huge resource for you.

Nice job carolwood - I would add the link to Andy Sims - just makes it easy for the detective to refresh his memory. I wouldn't cap amnesia or national news.

If you follow up with a phone call or receive an email with questions, you might want to point out that BK was on Dr. Phil and in the National Enq - just to give the detective a feel for some of the exposure BK has received and maybe put a little emphasis on the fact that NO ONE is claiming him yet. I kind of feel like the detectives are more willing to look at "long shots" when they know BK has been publicized and still no one recognizes him.

I've scratched my head over that question alot. I always end up back at the thought that it was someone (or a couple of someones) from the Holiday Inn next door or someone at the Burger King. I always wonder who was working the night shifts.

Hello Websleuthers, long time lurker and first time poster here. I am from within 30 miles within where BK was found. I'm not sure who's working this but I saw the story here first a few months ago.

This area can be very rural and I checked on a local story which was running for this area and came back here to compare pics. So I'm putting this out here for second opinions and to drive everyone else nutso comparing pics.

It deals with a missing man named Royal Christopher Miller missing from Pomona, CA on Sept. 17, 2000. While I'm not sure all the stats match, I'm also never sure if they are correct on posts. This one says his dob is 6/22/44. He was 56 when he disappeared, 5'9" and brown hair. If this one has been ruled out already, "Never mind!"

I just faxed all the information I could along with the letter to the department, and Ms. Molly and Ms. Doreen were very helpful. It will be put on his desk for when he returns, and I asked them to take a look also, the more eyes the better.
